How was your first experience in a dispensary?

Terrible.......

They all suck, bud tenders dont know jack, just what they are told by someone who only knows cost not about the actual product.....

They are all over priced for the quality of product.

I still consider myself a beginner grower but quality and potency wise my stuff beats ever strain I've tried from multiple dispo's.

Concentrates are a different story ----- Have I found any I like - NO

BAD --------- HumbleBee in Fredrick MI --------- bud tender was tweakin, didnt want to help, then made comment about us taking to long, (hard reading 1" labels behind glass when they are turned every which way....) so I said ok bye and will never come back....

BAD --------- HOUGHTON LAKE PROVISIONING in HL MI------- (they will lie to your face many many times and do nothing for you when there is an issue)

OK ----------- Riverside Provisioning in Grayling MI (small inventory)

OK ----------- Light'n up Provisioning in Flint MI ------ flower was ok, lots of choices but just ok - Concentrate potent (but Indica acted like Hybrid)

I am starting to think nobody actually carries Indica anymore, they just say it's Indica ........

In Southern California

Legal... sucked. Everything was overpriced and the state sales tax was too much. The tenders only cared about making sales and knew nothing about strains or where the products were sourced from even with farm names on the labels. They couldn't even verify the testing results on the labels

Underground... amazing. Bought directly from the growers who knew everything about their strains. You could sample before you bought. They'd offer you tips on how to grow your own products or enter the scene yourself. They were the most down the earth people around. The growers made you feel welcome and wanted you to become multi purchase customers.

All michigan dispensaries are crap because no one knows anything. That said Amsterdam is nicest, good selection and price. Budtenders are nice and willing to listen and if you know what you are talking about they are will to learn and ask questions. It doesn't hurt that it's across the street from Firekeepers casino.

The first experience in the store itself was great. The 40 dollar eigth of gelato that got me high but burned my throat worse than anythign ive ever smoked. Dont know about america but in canada all the dispensery shit burns my throat like they didnt cure it. Looks pretty. Smells pretty. Burns like bastard. I wouldnt be caught dead in another dispensary to buy overpriced weed that burns your throat.
All the homies say the same thing. We smoke my bag from home not their bag from the store.....
I hang dry for 5 to 7 and cure for 1 to 2 months at 62% humidity. Wet trim. I know canadian dispenseries arent doing the same. I can gaurentee it. Fuck the dispenseries.

I went to one called "Well Flower." Entering I see a couch a few chairs and a front desk. Music that was playing sounded like old elevator music. Call me paranoid, but I don't like having to allow any business to copy my ID. Showing it is one thing, copying it goes over the line for me. I will not go back, felt very uncomfortable and left.

I'm good with what I have in my garden.

I’ve been purchasing for 3 years in a dispensary, and I’ve used several different ones. Now that I’ve grown my own I realized how crappy the pot was. There in this for the money and I guess as soon as the buds look decent they harvest, my experience has been the pot is harsh and not that strong, I’ve never had a bud that was sticky from a dispensary, from now on I’m growing my own, and the amount they charge you for an 1/8 60 dollars, no thank you

Howdy neighbor (I'm in a Detroit Suburb), sorry to hear about your experience, but tbh that doesn't sound like a response to weed. Are you sure you didn't eat something bad beforehand or something? Happy belated bday!

I only have one experience with a dispensary in Illinois on my way to Iowa. To say it lightly I was not happy with the dispensary, the cost and the quality. I bought two different strains of 3 gram each, total cast was 150.00. When I was admitted into the dispensary, it was light a high security bank, I had to look at a tablet for a strain, and all of their strains was from one farm with their own strains that were far from expectable and none I have heard of before.

So, bend there, done that, and won't do it again.

I wouldn’t smoke dispensary weed if you gave it to me now. It plain sucks, feel bad for people that have no alternative. When the dispensary gets the weed from the farm first thing they put it in a tumbler to shake the resin off to make vapes and edibles, what a joke

I grow plenty of weed but it’s nice that the dispensary in my town has some nice sativas and hazes. The weed I usually buy from them is grown here in town. You can see the weed farm from the hwy. as easy as you can spot the vineyards that surround the area.
$15 an ⅛ for Nigerian haze.
$90 a ½ for red Congolese (not grown in town)

The equatorial landrace sativas reminds me of the 70s. No ceiling, effects for upwards of 5 hours. Ugly loose buds that smell like old cedar wood and funk. If you youngsters only knew what you were missing. If your weed is named after a fancy desert or fruit shit can it. Country or county of origin will make you happier.

Only thing good about weed from the 70s is nostalgia.
Its less powerful, less terps, looks like shwag, less medicinal properties like the cbs, not cured or dried right, more chlorphyl left in plant.
Lets not get it twisted the new age fruity shit blows mexican brickweed out the water:passitleft:

Sounds like you went when it was new, much better now ( security wise and selection) but prices are still too high. Greedy state, county and city taxes. I have friends who drive to Michigan.

You have absolutely no clue. Weed bred for High THC % and sweet smelling hard as a rock nuggets and 8–9 week flower times are marketing gimmicks. The true ‘high’ effects are lost to a ‘muddy’ stone.

I’m a 70s child, the best thing from the 70s was the orange sunshine and chocolate mescaline. Now that was a heady experience, first really good weed I got was when I moved to San Diego in 78 and got my first bag of red hair sins, before that living in NJ all we got was a bag of seeds and stems lol. It was ok weed but I prefer the weed I grow now, being 64 I have alot of aches and pains and a nice indica heavy hybrid seems to do the trick

Emerald triangle I presume , your a lucky guy, wished I’d stayed out there and settled. Most perfect weather on earth, although the fires are getting scary . My nephews live on the north shore of Oahu, similar weather , how I’m stuck living in NJ is beyond me

Blotter and microdot too!

Seriously bud, if you can get your hands on a long flowering FULLY MATURE old school sativa it’ll kill pain, get you motivated for the next house project and if you smoke enough you’ll get some cool visuals. Have plenty of snacks on hand though.

Is this the weed from the 70's all the grandpas tell me was so great?

Mine was at a dispo in Venice beach Ca. Before I was growing full time. Prob around 2014 or so.
Guys inside were wearing body armor. Openly carrying assault weapons. Watching every move I made. There were cameras inside watching everything. Aswell as watching outside.
They made a point to tell me “if you hear the word to run. Use this or this exit “. If DEA comes we are all F*****”
The whole thing was weird and kinda felt dirty.

Needless to say. Never went back. And actually haven’t gone to a dispo in many years now. They are all boutique now. With hipster weed salesmen. I don’t like any of the atmosphere in the legal stores. It’s very cringe
