A large amount of suspected marijuana was seized by police on Wednesday, after a tip led them to bushes an area off Sea Horse Village.

According to reports, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) discovered a blue crocus sack containing seven square taped packages of suspected marijuana while searching in the bushes, just east of a service road off Cannery Drive at 5:15 p.m.

The drugs weighed 35 pounds and were estimated to have a street value of $35,000.00. Investigations are continuing by the DEU officers.

Police also reported the arrest of a 41-year-old male resident of Pearl Way who was searched by DEU officers and found in possession of two packages of suspected drugs, 16 grams of marijuana.

He is expected to appear in the Magistrate's Court in Freeport today on drug charges for the 16 grams.
