Hydro Clay Pebbles

Will clay pebbles work in a DCW system.It says to keep water 1 inch above the basket level,so my question is will the clay pebbels retain and draw the water up to the plant when I put the seedlings into the media?

clay pebbles are 'clay'...inert mineral, no sucking and no contamination,

but clean with bleach and hot water first, then rinse again before use

so what you are saying is clay pebbles wont work in a DWC?

they are fine just wash like vastok said and hand water twice a day untill roots reach the res.

clay fired like lil rocks, and will do great in dwc

I assume you are referring to hydroton - leca (lightweight, expanded, clay, aggregate). I would water/feed it daily, the hydroton will retain water, it would take a couple of days to completely dry out. Once the roots grow into the reservoir you're good. Remember to keep the water cool.
