Hydroponic DWC Grow With 420Steve! - First Journal

Hello fellow growers, first off i want to introduce my self and why i want to grow, my name is Steve and i have a condition called insomnia aswell as back pain, I struggle with our basic function to sleep and get comfortable, so i smoke to help me sleep and relieve the pain, now want to grow for my self so i don't have to buy off other people and i know exactly what i am putting into my body.

I am a couple of days into my first grow and have so much to learn, so i thought i would make a journal and take you guys through it with me.

So i germinated my first 2 seeds (OG Kush) couple of days ago and have transplanted them into rock wall cubes under and placed them both under a 400watt Metal Halide Light, i know this is not ideal but i have ordered a (LightWave T5 2 x 6500K SUPER BLUE-WHITE 865 TUBES) for clones seedlings and early veg.

Watering with water
EC: 7
PH: 5.5
Nutrients: None

I have reverse osmosis but waiting for some components to use it, this will be a massive benefactor.

I do have a Root stimulant but i think i might have burnt my seedling already so holding back on that for now. Currently about 4 - 5 days in now with a 400 Watt MH light Temp around 71f - 78f and using a dome to keep the humidity up with 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness.

The goal is to have about 4 - 8 plants on a constant cycle using DWC hydroponics, Flower room is (152cm x 152cm(5x5) with 2 400 Watt HPS Lights and a Veg tent is (100cm x 100cm(3x3) with 1 400Watt MH light both with good ventilation keep and eye out for future pics with the grow and the equipment.

I am open to all feedback and it will be considered i hope we can all learn together and i will keep you updated every week, so here are a few photos of the seedlings so far there growth has seem to slow down a lot i am not sure if this is normal but were see what happens.

This is My basic set up and cant wait for my babies to start vegging but i have hit my first inexperienced issue this is not good.

EC: 7 (Soon using Reverse osmosis but i think my pen isn't calibrated)
PH: 5.5
RH: 72%
400Watt MH Veg, Seedling
2x800Watt HPS Flower
Intake and outage ventilation in both tents
Nutes: regen-a-root 1ml per liter(currently half strength)

Seedling Number 1, yellow tips dont look healthy, any advice would be great.

Just a quick update from 420Steve,

there has been some growth and progress but not as much or as fast as i hope, i think this is down to the temperature being around 58f - 70f night and day and will get some heaters in there soon to hopefully raise the temperature up and hopefully increase growth, possibly looking at getting a heat mat as-well for the dome when i have a full cycle seedling, veg and flower room all going at once.
I also think i might have burnt my seedling or let them germinate too long thats why the smaller ones are just surviving had to snap the root on one because it was to long to put into the rockwall cube, also brought a new CFL light to help with the seedling stage.

I have had some advice from 420 members that are helping me understand and grow as a grower and i cant thank you all enough and just want to remind you all feedback is appreciated and will be considered.

Here are a few pictures of the ladies:

Okie-dokie, Steve. I'm subbed up. I thought you had plants in buckets?

Not just yet i need to get past the seedling stage first but i am already having trouble with that :(

Baby steps, Steve. you'll get there. you really need to spend some more time on You Tube. Tons and tons of vids on seeds. While you're there, check out some vids on signs of over watering and under watering and how to spot them. Thats going to help you a lot. You'll be okay.

Hey guys quick update again,

Very slow growth not sure why still trying to figure that out, currently moved my big seed into 18 on 6 off using MH light this also help increase the temp for the seedlings.

The concoction used in a 25 liter bucket

Dutch pro
root 20ml
A and B original 50ml each
PH 5.8
EC 21
Temp in dome is 69.5f and 80% Humidity, i cant get that temp up this is ridiculas

This is a mistake i know but im learning and this is how i learn :p any advice would be great heres a few photos

A: it's still soaking wet in there. I see water in the tray. They look like they are over watered to me. Stop watering! 0 food right now. Just let them sit for a while. What are your temps like?

Its because i didnt water them for 3 days so i watered them today, now with the MH light on around 73f and 80% Humidity which is great :D, With the bigger seedling put into the hydro system i think its a mistake i did full strength with most of the stuff i think it might burn the seedling :(

Hey guys just a quick update from 420Steve, there is a bit more growth now and have sorted out the low temperatures in the room and got an average temp around 75f! I have also got 2 of the biggest seedlings and now have put them into buckets with air stones, testing at the moment with 1 bucket at full strength nutrients (Mistake but see how it turns out) and the other at quarter strength. (will post results in 2 weeks)

Quarter Bucket - PH 5.5, EC 7
Full Bucket - PH 5.5, EC 21

I have put the MH light on the help generate some heat as well as give off some extra light for the seedlings, I'm not sure if this is good or bad for my plants but i will give it ago, humidity for the dome is around 30% - 90% try to keep its around 70% to 80% but some times hard, recently brought a reptile heat mat to help with temp but it is crap and does nothing.

Nutes used for 20L Bucket:

Dutch Pro - Original Grow Hydro A (12.5ml Quarter)(50ml Full)
Dutch Pro - Original Grow Hydro B (12.5ml Quarter)(50ml Full)
Dutch Pro - Take Root (5ml Quarter) (20ml Full)
Plant Magic - Cal + Magne (5ml Quarter)(20ml Full)

Few Photos below of the progress going on, once again any advice would be epic and very appreciated.

nice job on the setup man, but never leave your plants sitting in water its the worst thing for them esp at low temps, soak the rockwool cubes drain them then put them back, let them almost go bone dry before you water again, this will help with root growth and healthier plants, good luck

Yeah its almost a fear of them drying up its all about finding that balance :p

The clone dome rock wool cubes with the hydroton rock are still too wet, lightly moist, make them search for water...all you really have to do is squirt cubes with pH'ed water everyday (lightly moist) until roots emerge, then squirt cube everyday (lightly moist) and lightly squirt the emerged roots. If the emerged roots sit in non-oxygenated water, they will begin to turn dark and die, so only lightly squirt pH'ed water over the roots everyday until you're ready to go to net pots & system.

Be careful down there at 5.5 pH...try to maintain a constant pH of 5.8 @ root zone & good oxygen.

Yeah its alot of learning at this stage i find trying to get a certain PH is really hard like a drop will send a 4PH up to 7PH so its difficult!
