Vegging for 5 weeks now
Indoor
Soil and hydro combination
Soil type 100% fox farm
3.5gallon bucket
Hi-grow 1000watt LED full spectrum
3 quite fans built into light for optimal cooling
Room temp average 84
RH average 36%
Fox farm naturally PH balances
No pest I used milk early as foilar feeding
Watering approximately 1liter daily
Nuts- only using quarter strength-

fox farm grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom, open sesame, beastie bloom, cha ching

I placed some some river rock at the bottom over my bubbler. After that I covered them both with water and put the soil in.

It did take some time to get the soil saturation correct. I didn’t realized that when using high grade soil like fox farm the filtration rate is very high. If I could go back I would certainly use half ff instead of 100%

Currently I don’t have a drain. This system is closed. I know that goes against the rules but what happens after a few weeks once the roots are stable they drink like crazy. I feed about twice a week and I water at least a liter daily. I assume they will start drink more!

If you could see the soil bubbling... your mind would be like that’s just not right but it feels so good...once you realize what’s happening. You get all the growth/benefits of hydro with all the greatness of growing in soil.

Benefits of hydrosoil, water temps stay relatively low because the root stay in the soil (heat dissipation) along with the water and air moving throughout the soil. You can use hydro nuts but with the forgiveness of soil! This is my first grow this way I’m curious as to what the root zone actually looks like.

I added a 400 watt MH to the lighting mix. Not sure if it will make much of a difference.. anyone have and experience with mixing LED and HID lighting?

Alot do it but I think they use hps I ran a 600 led 185 actually with a 1000w hps and I think It helped they was nice and sticky question would be is it to much blue with the mh if you have a hps bulb I would use it or run red only on your led to make up the difference
I'm gonna add 2 200 actual watts led with my 1000hps and se what happens my local store has a used dimmable ballast I'm gonna snatch up if they still got it when they open
