I Need Help!

I just got my first plant. Its in a cup and im waiting for it to sprout. I dont have a lighting system as of now but i do have a 200 watt infered hear lamp. Until i get my lighting system should i use the heat lamp just to give it some light and heat? Will the lamp kill my seed? or should i just not give it any special light and leav it in my room. Will it still sprout with out any kind of light?

i just use a regular 100 watt lightbulb in a desklamp, is working perfectly for now, but as sono as my plant starts to flower more im gona have to use a different one.

just get a compact flouresent

They are cheap and only about 12-18 inches long. Put it in a window if you can so it gets sunlight and don't forget to rotate it.
