I seen it last night and I had a question Ice. In regards to PAR, dead center was 560 and to the left it was 278 and to the right I was 333, why are the left and right more/less than each other if they are practically the same distance from the light except on opposite sides of the center? Also, you mentioned you were a sound engineer, what did you do specifically?

aww, thanks Sweet Sue... you should have seen how many audio takes it took to condense all the info about PAR into like 1 minute or less, I think I did about 6 or 7 takes..LOL I actually will be doing a video on PAR, light measurements and related info but it will be a lil bit before I'm ready to do that. I probably will do it around Christmas time since I get a week off of work then. Unless I decide to travel.

It may have been that the light was on a slight slant, causing the differences in the readings left/right. Other than that not too sure, but even though I tried to visually make sure the light was level, I didn't have a actual level to check it so just went off visual, so it may in fact been slightly turned one way.

I was a sound engineer for about 12 or more years, started just buying equipment and learning how to record way back because I just wanted to listen to my music (hiphop lyricist). Then I really started to take a liking to recording and wanted to know more and so I taught myself audio recording, mixing and mastering by just reading books, forum, magazines and just applying what I learned. Over the years I became very talented at recording and mixing which actually opened the opportunity for me to move to Cali and work with celebrities at a private record label. I still love to do music production, but the time/money equivilant was never in my favor so I pretty much only do it to satisfy my soul time to time, but other than that I haven't messed with it much in the past few years. My main genre of focus was hiphop and rap music but I worked with many different genre's as well.

Day 32 Flowering!!!

Well, we are at about that 1/2 way point and things continue to look good and also odd in my tent LOL

The tangies are really stacking buds nicely and some of them have at least 1' long cola's forming which is really awesome to see, I'm not sure if its because I did less training, or because its from seeds, but I've never really had large cola's form like this in the past, so I'm guessing it because of both, from seed instead of clone, and only topping 1x vs topping a bunch of times.

I mixed up a feeding today and it was a mix of:
5 gallons of water
hydrolyzed squid
hydrolyzed fish
Humboldt equilibrium (cal/mag)
humic acid
Humboldt bloom
Humboldt deuce deuce (Potassium sulfate)

I fed the girls each 4 cups of water (measuring cups, cup) and other than that just admired their stinky beauty. Over the past few days the smell has really ramped up in the garden, and I am very glad my carbon scrubber is working well as they reak in a good sweet skunky way

Other than that things are looking really good. There are a few oddities that are forming on the buds, where they look different than normal buds usually would as you will see in the photos. One of them has a top that is about 1/2 as wide as the lower bud, almost like a tower with a flagpole on it... another bud has multiple tops forming, and one of them has tons of little bursts of growth on the main cola, almost like its foxtailing or something. Very odd to say the least. Then there are others that are absolutely flawless in bud structure and I am even noticing some of the plants are much more frosty than others. Definitely the keeper pheno's are starting to show

Nice update video Icemud. In 30 days or so much could change in there. The barren one might explode with trichomes and things will fill out. It's interesting to hear you articulate it on the videos. It would take forever to type that out. I know. LOL!

You do the video format well. I wouldn't hesitate to continue along those lines if I were you. It's gotta be easier on you. I gotta tell you, there were moments I expected one of them to lean forward and try to take a bite out of you! They're huge entities, aren't they? They seem to like the new lights.

The smoke reports are going to be interesting.

Thanks Sweet Sue I like doing the videos because they give a more "real world" feel to the grows more so than the photos do It does help to make the updates quick too, as your right, its much easier to talk about the updates in the video vs type them

I honestly never expected these to grow into such monsters, they just keep wanting to stretch more and more and I've been debating if I am going to supercrop them because I did notice some bleaching about a week ago before swapping the lights as the plants were litereally about 5" away (too close) so I may be doing that in the next week. I'm going to see how things go over this next week and if the bleaching continues, then I may be bending them to reduce height, which actually may also add to a slight stress and force more trichome development

So far the one thing I noticed with the new lights is how much more fragrance is coming of the plants, almost 10 fold. They smell so much stinkier than they did with the other lights, so I'm not exactly sure why, other than more yellow/orange in the spectrum? will have to do more research on the specifics of spectrum and essential oil production.

Hey Everyone!!!

Day 36 flowering (from the flip)

Quick update before I get ready for work:

The tangies are looking amazing and continuing to grow and thicken up, and day by day they are building more trichomes as well. I did notice over the past week they haven't grown as fast as they were the week before, but usually at this point in flowering on all my grow it seems the plants kind of go through a slow change before they start bulking up, pistils usually start changing orange at this point and the calyx's will start swelling so it seems its just in the slow lag phase of flowering.

I did also notice that my tallest plant seems to be Nitrogen deficient so I added some extra N to the last feeding of earth juice which I gave them 2 days ago and will give them another earthjuice feeding probably tomorrow. All the others seem to be fine with no issues, so I think the tallest plant must just be using more N than the others.

Other than that I am very impressed with how things are looking and can't wait to see what the next few weeks brings

The mighty Vscrog in my Cabinet seems to have two layers to it, the buds that rise above the screen and those that are at screen level. I was thinking of harvesting the buds (when ready) that rise above the screen and leaving the ones at screen level to grow and mature further. Any thoughts on this.

If you have time I would love for you to check it out and offer some wise words?

I think I remember trying 2 harvests off 1 grow before and I did notice that harvesting the tops/cola's first and letting the underbuds "smalls" mature did make a slight difference but it was not super significant. What I did notice is letting them go an extra week or 2 after trimming the tops I did seem to get much more dense buds when I did this as before I took the 1st cuts, they were still underdeveloped and the calyx's didn't fully swell. As far as growth though they didn't really get much larger or anything, but they did finish better doing a 2nd harvest a week or 2 later.

The only thing though you want to be careful of is having them self pollinate if you wait too long. Ive had a couple grows where I waited longer than mature time to trim, and the buds seemed to spit banana's out and the result was some semi par, grassy smelling buds. Not sure if the chop itself and stress was the culprit, or just the extra flowering time and didn't happen every time, just a few.

I'm loving the white lights too I'm not sure what I'm doing different this grow but I've never had cola's like this before, but I also have never grown from seed before, so really not sure. I'm also pumping them with earth juice about 1x every week which I haven't done since my 1st grow about 4 years ago, usually I do it sparingly about 1x per 2-3 weeks and this time I'm going full bottle fed with my aged and recycled soil so that could be also part of why I am seeing the results I am. Also could be the lights too. Personally I think its a combo of all 3 above mentioned... either way I am super stoked on how things are turning out

Yea those tricomes are really starting to form, all the way up some of the shade leaves Tangie is supposed to be a very frosty strain so I'm excited what the next 30 days will bring

It's hard to tell because so far the terpene smells and fragarence have changed a couple times from early veg, to later veg until now.

A few of them smell really sweet, like a rotting fruit but very sweet, a couple smell like a sweet berry UK cheese smell, and a couple of them smell more skunky/minty with very little sweetness.

Early in veg they all had a very citrus, orange peel type smell which seems to have left as they matured. I'm curious what terp profiles will be present after drying and curing.

I could say that maybe 1 or 2 smells a little like skunky floor cleaner, less lemon and more pungent chemical skunky smell though.
