Bedford Park medical cannabis cultivator has started distributing its product to be used by approved medical patients.
Bedfrod Grow LLC located in Illinois State Police District 4, cultivates over 53 hybrid medical cannabis strains benefiting thousands of approved patients in Illinois.
The company received its license to Bedford Grow LLC was awarded its license to cultivate medical cannabis in early 2015. Construction of the medical pharma grade cultivation facility took almost year.
Only one cultivation center is allowed per each of the 22 Illinois State Police districts. The grow centers had six months to construct, grow, and hire employees within six months after acquiring a state license to cultivate and sell their products to licensed medical marijuana dispensaries.
The start-up costs to open a medical cannabis cultivation center are hefty. Cultivation centers are required to pay a one-time $25,000 permit application fee. A first year permit fee is $200,000 for the first year; each year the permit renewal fee is $100,000,
Prior to application, cultivation center applications must demonstrate $500,000 in liquid assets as well as pay a $1 million bond to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to Green Rush Consulting.
