Indie Grower's First Ever Grow In Closet: White Widow Auto In Regular Garden Soil, 50W LED Bulb, Advice Always Appreciated

They will all get done at roughly the same time. You can still take successive harvests at that point to learn what level of amber suits you best, and some of these small lower buds will ripen first just to surprise you.

I am waiting till 25% of her trichomes are amber and I hope these little popcorns are ready by then.

Also, I have started the Skywalker seeds and really want to impress my grow tent with sweetly raised plants. To do that, I am making notes out of your current grow journal as I find it very informative. One thing I wanted to ask about your topping preferences, you have topped all of your current plants in between 2nd and 3rd node, wherein most people prefer topping at or after 4th node.

actually, my jack herer was topped between 3 and 4. I have never been one to do things as most people prefer. I prefer the scientific method.
So here is what we know about topping:
If you top between 2 and 3, it works like a FIM and you produce 4 main tops.
If you top between 3 and 4, it does crazy things. Most often you get 3 tops, but I have seen 5 come out of it.
If you top anywhere above 4, you get 2 tops and it works like that from then on... top a tip and produce 2 tips.

so to go a bit further with this... it is always my desire to produce short plants, and plants that structurally can hold up a lot of buds. Topping down low and getting right with the training from then on allows you to create the shortest plants possible, and the 4 main tops and opening up the middle seems to be a very productive way to grow. I pretty much always nowadays top at 2-3, after waiting for node 5 to rise up, just so after the top I still have some large fan leaves to keep things humming.

Looking at wappa, I can understand what structure you intend to create to hold heavy buds. I have germinated 2 seeds and would be raising them differently, one will go through the topping with training and the second one will grow without topping to own the main cola which everybody talks about. Not sure, if it is a myth that it's the most potent.

Is it advisable to start the germinated seeds in an opaque glass? I will have my seeds germinated by tomorrow morning and I only have clear glasses filled with clean coco to host them.

@Emilya do you mind if I post this as reference in the grow party?
I have been thinking about difference in where and when to top, and this was so clearly written.

It's been two days since my Skywalker seeds are sitting between the moist paper towels and there's no sign of any crack or taproot! I believe I am doing something wrong in the process and I have lost 4 seeds to that mistake already.

Step 1 - I drop the seed into a glass of Reverse Osmosis water set at room temperature and then I place it in dark for 24 hours.

Step 2 - I carefully take out seeds with the help of a clean tweezer and place it between moist paper towel (this time I even cleaned the bleach off the tissues) and put it inside a zip lock and place it over my refrigerator in darkness.

Yet again, not able to get success. Tried searching for sterilized cotton but it isn't available in pharmacy around me.

I've had seeds take 3 or 4 days just keep them moist in that paper towel inside a ziplock and warm I use a heat mat I've had pretty good results or try starting directly in rockwool cubes with a heat mat I did a few like that they all came up kinda prefer it less chance of damaging the taproot..

I have never tried germinating in rockwool cubes and it sounds like an interesting method. I have been reading about germinating the seeds directly in the medium and they say it takes little longer but gives 100% success. Have you read about it?

I've done it myself I feel like the most important part is a good heat mat and temp controller I use an apollo heat mat with an ink bird temp control i put the probe right in the rockwool cube keep the temp 78-80 degrees the starter cubes are perfect they have the hole for seeds in them I was starting mine in paper towel till I saw any sign of a tail then right in rockwool but I found you dont really need to if you just soak the cube place the seed right in it an leave it alone for a few days.

Day 54th - Flowering

Namaste!

As I was away for some office work and my wife had to take care of our girl "Bliss" and I believe this growing lady loved the care she received and reciprocated by growing multiple new buds.

All other buds have matured to 70% cloudy trichomes and some amber, but this growth is still making trichomes and desires to grow big.

I was considering flushing soon, but this act will kill this new growth, if I don't flush, I will end up smoking "harsh to throat" joints! :hmmmm:

She will be ready for a partial harvesting pretty soon and I have been researching on it for some time, few would say it doesn't stress the plant, but if I was the plant I would have freaked out to the soul.

@Emilya @AngryBird Let me go through your knowledge on partial harvesting and how it is done to leave least stress on the plant. Attaching some pictures of her to keep you updated on her growth.

Also, I have noticed that the new growth looks different but sweet.

:peace:

First of all, I would suggest you take one of the buds that is done in your eyes.

Quick dry it or cut it up a bit (depending on size) and let it dry over night.
Flavour is not going to be like a cured harvest, just to see the high/relax feeling it gives you.

How do I quick dry it? I have my anniversary coming on the 5th, I'd love to roll her up on the occasion!

I pop mine in the oven for 15 minutes at 220°... that gets it pipe ready anyway.
You might want to look for test buds down low on the plant... a lot of times the smaller lower buds get done a little sooner than the top big buds. If you do decide to take a big top bud, no problem there either. The plant thinks it is dying anyway... your efforts are helping in that regard. Just chop, and then wait a few more days on the rest... there really is no stress here.

Wouldn't it stunt the new growth? As she's growing buds even now
