Indoor Girl Scout Cookies Grow 2019: My First

Hello everyone ! The strain I’m attempting to grow is Girl Scout Cookies, a OG Kush and Durban Poison hybrid! (Just one plant)

I germinated the seed 7 days ago and I’m just getting started ! I’m doing an indoor grow in soil for an easier start since I am a rookie. The soil I chose to start with is nature’s cure , natural and organic mix . The size of the pot I am using is .3 gallons. There is plenty of airflow in the room, the light set up I am using is 1 cfl , 23 watt 1600 lumens , 6500k color. (Plan to add more as the plant grows of course) The room temperature is about 67° when the light is off and about 75° when the light is on. Room humidity is at 55% to 60%. I am doing in 18 hours on in six hours off schedule. I love to give my plant some rest. The nutrients I will use for this grow will all be Fox Farm, since they seem relatively easy to mix and use.

One thing that I have been lacking is a ph tester , I plan on going into town and getting one tomorrow so I can ensure the levels are correct . Another mistake I made early on is I over watered which halted the progress of the plant. Since then I let the pot dry out and she has been making better progress again. I’m now only watering a little bit when the top of the soil is dry.

I’m very thankful and excited to be a part of this community. You guys are amazing and you guys rock. I cannot wait to learn enough to start helping others one day. If there’s any information I missed please let me know and I will reply with it. I plan on updating this probably weekly. If not more.

I will provide a Picture from yesterday.

Well I’m back with another update and it’s not a good one.. I think I have spider mites but I most definitely do have a infestation. Tomorrow I should be buying my new lights and tent but now also something to kill whatever’s on my plant . I’m new to this but I’ll figure something out , I just need to go to bed because I have to wake up soon. But as soon as the hydro store is open I’m buying something to get rid of whatever this is . But other than that the plant seems fine..:(

Also I attached a photo of the bug , and these other little things that are growing . Don’t know what they are was wondering if anybody had some pointers .

Hello everybody !! Hope everyone is having a lovely day . Update on my plant she’s nice and healthy. I can’t find any more bugs so I haven’t treated the plant. I do have some stuff on standby Incase I see anything else but I don’t think they survived.

I ordered a tent and a mars hydro 300w light so hopefully she will make it until mars gets me the light . It’s been a few days still waiting for them to send it but overall plant is healthy .
Pictures below .

(No I did not use the insect spray just have it on standby)

little update here! My plant is doing nice and good, I noticed some roots starting to grow out of the bottom of the pot so today I’m going to transplant !

The new soil I’m going with is 707 organic, local hydro shop had suggested it , I’m also going to a 5 gal smart. I will leave photos of the finished product in a little !

Okay , I’m all finished up. That was so scary handling my plant like that. I lost some roots in the bottom of my last pot , not much at all though . I’d say the only thing that went bad is that I got some dirt on my plant . Is there any easy way to remove it ?? Or should I just leave it alone ? I’m not even sure if dirt is gonna hurt it . I’m still waiting on my light and I know my plants need it so fingers crossed just waiting on mars hydro !

I only watered a little bit because the soil was pretty moist , what do you typical do ? I was gonna do nutrients in 3-4 days since they really haven’t had any.
Every soil will be different . I’m using pro mix hp , it’s in the soilless category.. for me I have temps at 24celcius. It takes around 3 days to dry out. I feel the pot it’s in. The plant will drop a little when they thirsty ... how many days since the seedling has popped up outta the dirt. My schedule is feed feed water. All ph to 6.0.
What are you using for nutes.

This will be day 14 since it’s popped out of the soil. I gave it a 1/10 dose of fox farms big grow . The only I have is big grow . (Trying to keep it simple) it’s only on it’s 2nd node . I would like to top it but I don’t know how this plant will do . I’ve had poor lighting since the beginning and I’m still waiting for my light.

Is the light on order. And what did you get.

So far so good I say.
Welcome Liam. Looks like it's going just fine. As you are fully aware you need more light soon but don't get too worked up because that plant looks just fine. Worst case scenario you just pop in another CFL to hold you over. The CFL lights do best when suspended horizontally over the plant instead of vertically. More light comes off the sides of those lights.
Here is a link to a thread created by Emilya. She did a great job and this is how I water my plants.
