Broke ground today (8-28-2011) looks like 100% germ rate 11 for 11
I want to get some seed out of these so lets hope for a few males

Preping 2qt 4" PVC pots

Snug as a bug in a rug
Sitting under about 250w CFLs

This is the propagation room.
Up to 1080w(45w*24) CFL mixed 2700 and 6500
This light is a big fat hot power pig. After a certain point CFLs just dont make dont make sense.
There is a 250 cfm fan sucking the hot air off the light into the passive ventilated room via central air blower on 24x7
Tray Is 6X3 2 foot off the ground. I need to get a wall fan in here.

WATER
Tap water is around 400ppm and 160+ total alkalinity PH 7.5-8.0
I cut it with RO water.
I try only to make as much water as I need
Right now i use about 15gal per watering
5 gals RO water
10 Gals tap water
15ml 35% H2O2
1 dropper "super Thrive"
15ml Clonex (very week)
I also have some GH 3 part I will sometimes add just a sniff
Adding a very week mix of what ever nutes i have handy
seems to help get control of the PH
At this point I PH down to 5.5-6.0
I use this mix for seeds, clones, veg, and flower.
Sometimes the clone water is straight TAP no RO
I try to change the clone water every 48 hours.

MEDIUM
Hempy 100% Perlite With a sprinkle of OC+

POTS
Most in the flower room now are 2 gal a few are 2qt.
I have a few tall narrow 2qt pots 10" of 4" PVC pipe with a (test plug) in the bottom.
These PVC pots where originally 1gal but to get 1 gal they needed to be 20" tall
50 tall skinny containers on a 6x3 tray was a disaster waiting to happen so i cut them all in half.
So now they are 2qt and 10' tall. Better but still might be a pain in the ass...we shall see

Here is the "test plug" and the hempy hole

The one on the left is 20" 1 gal...too damn tall and top heavy.

The flower room. Full of bag seed now and a few clones from last cycle
4 weeks old
2 week flower
All the males are gone.
6X3 Tray 2 foot off the ground
1k HPS on 6 foot light mover
450 cfm exhaust sucking the air out of the room through the light then up and out the roof.
Passive whole house intake.

80-90 canopy 74-78 ambient

***RH of Room/cab?
44-50%

Had bud rot last cycle...I hope this thing will help this time around
So far so good flower room now stays below 50%rh

The flower room was hot as hell by lights out this morning. I think the dehumidifier is pumping out more heat than the 1kHPS.
RH was sitting at 45% but the canopy was 90.

The fresh air from the house central air dumps into the room right above the light. I would guess most of this gets sucked through the light and out to the roof berfore it has a chance to mix with the room.

I think i will try to redirect the fresh air to under the grow area so it has a chance to mix a little before getting sucked out.

Very impressive with the setup! I like how you use the PVC for the clones.

For the a/c I like your 2nd drawing having cool air traveling down and let it come up through the plants. That will work. I'll be following along, pulling up a sofa.

The PVC may not be the most cost effective but its easy to work with.
Been lazy about moving the AC maybe this weekend.

Here are some shots from the last cycle.
These were 12-12 from seed under CFLs start to finish.
Bagseed...I hope to isolate this pheno...just one short fat bud.

Looks great! Very short and very fat. Good luck with natural selection. Do you have any flowering plants in the big pvc from previous grows? Or is this new?

No the 2qt PVC is new. I have a few in now. You can fit 4 2qts in the same space as 1 2gal.
In the end it looks like you end up with the same amount of plant mass.
But you have 4x the pots to deal with.

PVC well i wouldnt do it again. You could get the same effect with 2 liter pop bottles

Ah no problem. I'm actually doing 2L atm and will get that full force in few weeks.

I noticed you got the aero cloner without the spray heads. What is your average rooting time with it? Your setup is very unique. I'm running similar aero cloner without spray heads but they are shooting up making splashes under the cap. Seeing you also have one without the spray heads and it works for you, that's awesome!

I get roots in about 2 week.
I just drilled holes in the pvc with the smallest bit i could find.
The holes will clog after about a month but are easy to clean.
They are 30gal tubs.
264 GPM pumps.
Just enough water to cover the pump.
I needed to direct the spray low and to the sides.
If it sprays up on the lid they leak like a bitch.
I have a air pump and stone in there as well
but with all the spray i dont think it needs it.

I may not look like it but that spray goes everywhere
The stems are dripping with water evertime I peek.

OK Day 7 for the AK47. They all look happy and right on track.
There is one that is clearly ahead of the others...my bet is that one will be daddy.
I have 6 to 8 weeks to go before there will be free space in the bloom room.
I am thinking these will go in bigger pots so i can LST them and start getting clones. Might even have time to send a few clones to the flower room so i can sex them and pick out a daddy.
This is my first cycle with "pure breed" seeds so i will cross them with all the girls i have as well as in breeding.
When I grow from seed I like to pop 100 and save the top 20. To me it is the easyest way to get really strong plants.

Day 22 Flower. Baby buds all over the place.
Took the lower branches from best girls as clones.
The male started dropping pollen.
I need to get some branches pollinated by next week so that should work well.

Thanks for the cloner details. Mine just took roots and is loving it. How long have you been practicing the art of breeding? True breeding is fun, what are your goals for them?
