JZ's Shootout: Part Deux

Quick update:

Long day was long, both at work and in cleaning out the res, the airstones and getting 4 gallons of RODI out. Bought the adapter and some pliers at the local Ace (1/2 block away!) and I'm sure the plants are happier.
Got home and added 9 gallons of RODI and a couple of gallons of tap, came out to 100ppm. I thought that was a little high, so I pulled 3 gallons of that (saved it), and added 3 more gallons of RODI to replace it. Somethings wonky on my ppm meter (I'll drag it to the hydro shop and make them look at/calibrate it), as it was only reading 100 and 0 ppms....WTF.
Anyhow, I know the ppm is < 100, so I adjusted the pH down to 5.6, and am finally (yes, right now) calling it a night. Oh, almost done trimming off the cooked out shit leaves, this was a valuable lesson in calcium toxicity.

Where's those pics??? Love the pics!!
My, aren't you demanding!

There was much dying material, but the short girls needed that trim, and since they're barely reaching puberty, they'll recover nicely. The big girl is pretty much trimmed out, I suppose it will be a wait now to see if there's going to be any seeds.

You can see some of the damage on those baby bud porn shots. :thedoubletake:

The Amazonia will be giving up a pair of clones tonight, this time a little bruising of the cambium and some cloning gel.

Ooh, look at them girls with the skinny legs. Don't they look just fine?
Their pretty buds are all popping out, they old enough? Wish they were mine.

Well suited in cheerleader skirts. Can lust send me straight to Hell?
So be it, can't just beat it. Life is music like ringing a bell.

They like the water now :)

Leaves perked up, buds showing on the short girls now, the big girl is filling out her spindly gams now :morenutes:

Both Amazonia cuts (new ones, and yes, I used Clonex) are happy. Shopping for a newer, wide & low tent instead of this tall behemoth - also pvc to build a SteveHMan anti-suck/scrog assembly.

Updates as situations warrant.

Oh, by the way, what do you folks do with your vape remnants? I've found smoking them isn't unpleasant and I get a more body buzz from it... let me know!

I'll usually make either Budder or oil from my ABV and use it for medibles. I don't smoke it - it gets pretty harsh afer being vaped.

JZ,

yeah, that's me...miss demanding  really I'm just a visual learner :)

they look soo :yummy:

So, I had a good weekend with my pal up north, good meds, good food, good beers and great talk about growing.

Finally showed him the 'Part Deux' series and he just watched and chuckled adding "And that's why you killed those.", "Oooh, I remember when you chopped that!", "you killed that too?"

He's happy to see buds finally!

As far as a 'shootout', I think I'm calling it pretty much done; I'll let the autos finish out, then probably tell you then what I'll tell you now:

Either LED unit does the trick. Based on the price point, I'd have no issue recommending Donnie's GSL300 Pro-Bloom for a LED grower. It's lighter in weight than the Brand X, covers about the same area and is *significantly* less in cost.

That all said, as soon as the autos are done, I'm gonna close this thread and start my perpetual coco/oc+ thread. Maybe Donnie will still trade me that Brand X for another 300 Pro-Bloom!

Thanks again to our sponsor, Grow Stealth LED for providing me the light I'm using and for being a sponsor here at 420Magazine :thanks: :high-five:

Oh, yeah, my pal gave me a nice rooted 'Blackwater' cut, so she's in the coir. Also hydrating up a single 'Dynamite' bean. Here's pics, in no particular order:

Hi JZ,

Nice to see your garden looking so good :thumb:

I knowyou must be happy

Which one of those is the Boy? Can you snap a couple close up's so I can see what a mature male looks like. They get a flower of some kind too, right? It just looks different than the female.

:cheer:

Only plant like that in the entire kingdom. Separate plants with fem parts, or male parts.
Once your see those pollen sacs full of erectile anthers at the crotch of branches,
there's no mistaking them for delicate little pistle probes,
or those flakey yellow 'nanner' tongues licking out from female part clusters.

The boy has been chopped. He looked just like:

I'm so loving coir and oc+.

JZ,

Thanks for the pic...I didn't realize you already chopped the male. Only let him live long enough to produce the pollen you wanted? The mature male plant sure does look different than the female. I don't know if you remember...I've had hermies, but never let a male plant mature.

P-Gator,

yeah I know, only one of it's kind...isn't it amazing! Different, yet the same, by design.

:peace:

Just s'more pictures so sqwheels will not get all antsy

See? Seeds!

Did some re-arranging, like I said, no use in pretending any of these lights are any better than the other, save that the GS300 Pro-bloom weighs way less than the Brand X. runs cooler and is giving me results I'm pleased with.

The occupants, starting with the tall Cate Harrington:
