Landrace Genetics 101

That's a hell of a good first entry!!!! I smoked some my buddy called Blue Satellite and wow it was some dank!!! Didn't get to see the bud but that didn't matter I got to enjoy it!!! I will be checking out your Purple Satellite at Ace !
 
Hey there 4wings - ya they just announced it last week or something so its a very recent development. Ive just had some ACE gear sent to me from Seedsman too, so there’re plenty of options anyway :)

How did you keep plants out of your lights?

Can you do us a favor and let us know when you're Purple Satellite is available for purchase, please? I'll run that, sooo pretty and who doesn't like purple flowers?

I run Devils Tit from SnowHigh and it's a 10' plant. Looks a lot like your pics with all the strings after 100 days in flower.

This one I've ran probably 3 rounds after selection of 2 phenos that are very close. 1 will run 120+ days the other pheno 90 days.

DT #10 - in flower for 2 weeks.... yawn. Still no flowers but the lights are getting closer, yay.

^^ I have Devil's Poison which is very close to the Tit which has more Acapulco Gold x C99 lineage. Basically Durban Poison. I plan to run it next time. You might want to drop your lights on to 10 hours to speed things along. I go 9 1/2 hours on.

Snow has legit old time strains now doubt. The Purple Satellite is a nice old time Mexican type smoke. Tasty as anything I have smoked if that is important to you.

I go in the tent most everyday to check the height of plants and if too high ( over 18 inches) they get pinched and bent sideways till they are correct. A lot of work I guess but it goes quick after a while so not really. I have total 110 watt fluorescent lights so they are not gonna do well on 3 or even 2 foot plants. Tent is only about 5 foot tall as well.

Nanan Bouclou, Punto Rojo, C99, Purple Dalat x Congo, Guerrero '76 are some of the lines flowering. Have not smoked any of them before.

Hmm for me it's weird, cause this taste is imprinted in my brain. I'm watching a session with Kevin Jodrey and this guy suddenly starts talking about heavy Skunk extract that tasted like burnt rubber and this is the taste of black Afghan hash that also comes through in PCK... well Hindu Kush genetics. Well he said people were suspicious, cause they thought something was wrong :laugh: I mean come on! But yeah people don't have a clue and it's common :smokin:

I have other strains going in there with DT. I've been running 11.5/12.5 for years. The wait don't bother me anymore. I just re-arranged my flower room and put the 2 DT I have going in flower right now in the corners.

I found a way to keep them short.

I took a cut, then as soon as it had a few new root shoots I put it in soil and right into flower. The plant looks like a re-veg all single leaves and its a shorty now.

She started out with normal leaves and then just went to all singles and she's only 2' tall and has been flowering for a few months now. She's got a long way to go.

DT Mutant - there's a main stem about 2' long nothing but a big cola with single leaves sticking out. Gonna get interesting. She actually smells like Coffee.
There are several other side branches as well bit not as big as the main one.

Reason I asked about height and how you do it is these plants get tall. I have a 7' ceiling.. they grow about 9-10' indoors.

Here's DT #10 she's been in flower 3 weeks now and just showed her first pre-flowers when I took this pic:

DT #10 is on the right - I moved her to the back corner today

DT # 11 her little sister only 2 weeks in flower on the left.
(Mystery Girl actually, but looks just like DT and is acting like her too) I dropped a seed on my seeding table when I was sprouting Dark Devils in the summer and picked up a seed thought it was a DD seed but the plant never when into flower under 20/4 (DD is an AUTO). So I said what the hey... lets see what she's got and low and behold I got this. I do get seeds from DT once in a while, a few down low if I dont clean off the main stems real well. Maybe one seed dropped out from my plants I had hanging over my seedling table and picked up the wrong seed. The only thing I could think of to get this.

Here's my plants tonight 3 weeks in flower. They are finally flowering (a little bit)..

Lamp is @ 6' - I have more space to move up! I'm gonna need some more room.

They are putting on some stretch.
