A Lee County, Ala., man was arrested Wednesday after authorities raided his home and seized approximately 60 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $50,000, said Lee County Sheriff's Office Capt. Van Jackson.

Eric Beauchamp, 44, of 3626 Lee Road 240, Salem, was charged with unlawful trafficking of marijuana after Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies, working off a tip, executed a search warrant at his home about 5:50 p.m., Jackson said.

In the attic of the home, officials discovered two separate bundles of marijuana each weighing more than 25 pounds. In a shed behind the residence, investigators seized 11 one-pound bags of the drug, Jackson said.

Beauchamp is being held in the Lee County Detention Facility on a $100,000 bond.

Jackson said the case remains under investigation and more arrests are expected.
