I just read the article about President Biden’s stance, #420magazine News, on the legalization of marijuana and fully believe, he might not be a supporter or have the testitude to take this country out of “the war on drugs”, but, it’s happening people!

Legalized marijuana will become law in Virginia on July 1, 2021! Fast tracked by the Democratic government, adult use and possession will be legal three years earlier than originally planned in 2024.

Continue to speak up and let your elected officials know how you feel about the legalization of marijuana, your voice does matter!

To many Federal level legislators from both parties are not in favor of legalization. Biden does seem to be a bit more open to doing something than some of the others, though. He is very involved in the Covid problem and wants that to end that first before he gets caught up in the Marijuana issues.

It would not surprise me if he ended up supporting rescheduling instead of legalizing.

Welcome to legalization! Congratulations! Biden can't do much until the patent restricting clinical testing runs out in 2023. His hands have been tied by Congress who has given big Pharma 10 years to figure out how to monetize cannabis. Your new laws sound very workable, and I only hope my state will continue forward and change our medical plan to a recreational one soon.
There are two parts to this activism thing. It is one thing to campaign for the laws and get them into place, but once that has been done it is also important to then use those new laws to grow some weed! The more people who actually exercise their rights, the better chance we have of keeping them.

There are Republicans who are pro legalization and there are Democrats who are against legalization. Most likely the US Senate is the same way. What will be important is if the Senators on either side of the aisle will vote for legalization when the time comes? Or, will they fall in line with someone else because they are told how to vote?

In the meantime, the DEA has started granting licenses to several specialized growers who will now be able to grow Marijuana for the purpose of testing and research. Up to now the only legal grower was the University of Mississippi and they have been famous for growing ditch weed. Coming up will be some more accurate and real-world testing for medicinal research. The info on the granting of licenses started showing up on news feeds about 24 hours ago.

I personally think all this shit is planned out by Dems & Repubs together. OK guys, I'll say I'm going to pass this bill, and you be the hold out so nothing passes. The Good Cop / Bad Cop thing sort of. I think both sides work together to make it look like they're trying to do something that they really have no intention of doing.
Biden is right about Reagan's B.S. trickle down economics. They do not work ! Reagans policies were meant to be way different. It was suppose to get businesses back on their feet & then the profits were suppose to trickle down to the workers by giving raises. Instead the businesses kept the money, didn't raise wages & now 3 people in the house have to work to pay the bills. Only my dad worked before the Reaganomics B.S. took over. The wages we get paid today are about equal to what the slaves of yesteryear got. They got food & shelter & that's all we get today on the wages we get paid. There's no reason not to raise wages. There's no need for inflation to do it either. Companies just need to settle for a million a year in profits & distribute the rest to the employees who make them that million dollars. Bring back Unions & get rid of Reaganomics & our country will do well.
Get rid of the Republican Party & you get rid of Reaganomics ! I use to be a Republican until Trump ruined the party.
I can't be a Republican if they don't hold Trump accountable for Jan 6th. Shows the party has No Morals. If Trump gets back in, in 2024 we are going to be a communist country with a Dictator.
I'm sure hoping the Republican states pay the price at the midterm elections for cutting everyone off unemployment early. Many will suffer & lose their whole well being. I'm in that situation myself. I've applied for hundreds of jobs. Been to several interviews & have 40 years exp. in printing. I'm 60 years old & they just aren't hiring us old folks. Sure, I can get a $14 - $16 hr. job. How do you pay your bills on that when I usually make $23 p.h. ? I can't afford to take a job that pays under $20 p.h. I've already gone 9 weeks without receiving any unemployment & on the verge of losing my house, car & everything else. My savings are gone. I have no chance at retirement at this point. I may have to find a way to get a life sentence just so I can retire someday. That's how much hope I have left in our country doing the right thing.

Republican states already pay the price for being backward social shitholes. Typically the highest unemployment, lowest graduation rate, overall unhealthier populations. Stupidity literally breeds stupidity. America has a very strong history of voting against our own best interests.

Jesus I grew up in the 80's...what the fuck happened to science and spacecamp and America being a technological giant? We can't blame any of that on China or Mexico...Reagan sent the jobs there, the auto companies chose profit over people and moved out of cities instead of investing in retooling their existing factories. Pulling factories out of the cities set off a domino effect of poverty and racial tension but motherfuckers still blame black folks for that. Really? REALLY? FUcking puds.

I'm pissed because I got all this 'America is the best' shit blown up my ass in the 80's and 90's and I come out of the Navy in 2007 and it's not what I had been told would be waiting for me. Why finish a science degree when there's no decent jobs for someone starting with a bachelor's? AND I WAS LUCKY...I had all the college money from the Navy. Yeah, but what I read was it was all just a stunt for the mid-terms. Something like literally almost noone qualified since simple possession is not a federal offense. Don't know if that's true, but it's totally consistent with those swamp creatures of both parties.

They're all just gas lighting us. "Look at this nice shiny object of here" while they do real damage over there while no one is paying attention.

I don't know about it being a stunt or not. There is more to the pardons mentioned though. Yes, very few people would have been pardoned on the federal level since the Feds tend to prosecute on 'high misdemeanor' and felony levels more often than the state or local court systems. I figure those people took a plea to a simple possession to get out from under a more serious federal charge that they just could not win against.

What I did read was that this Federal pardon for simple possession was something meant to get the states off their butts since they have a higher percentage of the population with possession convictions. Get them to follow along by wiping the 'state level' simple possession charges from a persons record which would be good for the person and the community.

As much as we could find anything wrong with the current president he did do something more than just say he was in favor of relaxing or changing a policy. Now it is up to the people to remind him that more is needed.

Since it's all work to them all of it can be a stunt i'd say. Any and all of them. I'm just happy to see the direction go the right way for a change, and not by a tyrant in training like the last one. I agree with term limits I think. I am tired of the "old men in charge" we have going on here. I'm also a little afraid of what spawns if there's little or no old timers experience in the crowd. It's a conundrum!

When you’ve got 300+ million people spread across a nation the size of a continent it’s going to be very difficult to come to a consensus. I live a completely different life than someone that lives just 50 miles away, never mind 2,000 miles away. One thing I can say is that for all of our division and anger, we still refuse to allow one party rule, which is exactly how it should be. No single party deserves the keys to the kingdom, when that happens you end up like China or Russia. For as much as I disagree with other Americans, I am extremely thankful the majority of us are right down the middle and have zero desire to see either party given full control over our future.

I am also thankful our states still have a degree of autonomy.. If you don’t like what’s going on in your state there’s most likely at least one other state doing things the way you like.

I’ve lived in other countries and while it was an “experience” I always couldn’t wait to get back home.. We’re just a different breed of people with different priorities, and I really enjoy the fact that our privacy is very well guarded.
