Let's Go Summer Grow - Experimenting With My Own Crossbreeding - Summer Sativas

Quick update.

Today while having my morning coffee/check up of the garden, I noticed a little surprise. BC Mango pheno is showing pistils I don't know if I should be happy about it... at 15 hours and 40 minutes of light I would have never thought they would start flowering or pre flowering. My only worry is that the rest of the plants are not showing signs of flowering and my light schedule will start losing daylight at the end of this month and Im like 2 months away from a 12/12 lights schedule. On the other hand flowering at this moment could be beneficial for pulling out a more Sativa trait out of my plants.

I wanted to update today since I did the watering with my compost tea which is pretty much a long simmer of all my frozen veggie and fruit waste. I also fermented pineapples skins in water and use this probiotic water for my plants. Different stuff I'm trying out hope the plants react favourably, so far they are looking pretty healthy and strong. The Chemdawg phenos are the ones looking like they are not having the best time, I think their is some heat stress when the door of the closet is closed and I have the lights at maximum, it gets over 30 celsius.

Since my last post something terrible happened, I have the certainty that I poisoned my plants to the point of annihilation, after that last watering they started lossing all the leaves, then the stems got so weak they tilted, all this happen in one week. Out of frustration I decided to just pull the plug on all of them and start a new batch. Only one survived the mass murder that I did, a Chemdawg pheno. I think that it was a mayor PH issue cause my last watering had to be to darn acid for my plants it completely destroyed the roots. I've had feelings of guilt for the past 2 weeks.
I got new sprouts a week old I will post some more when they get a little more stronger.

Holy crap Danish, that's horrible! Since the plug is already pulled there's no sense in dwelling on it, just take the lessons learned and apply them to the crop. I wish you the best of luck on the new seedlings. Keep us posted...

A little over a week and a half has past since my last devastating post. New life has sprouted and Im not taking any real risks. Im taking extra precautions with my experimentation. Im so glad and very satisfied with the progress of the Chemdawg pheno, she looks radiant and very sturdy, like the Phoenix she rose from the total disaster I made.

Just a quick update, everything seems to be good, some ups and downs but generally girls in shape. Some remarks my Chemdawg pheno suffered again some sort of nutrient problem, she was glowing last week then after the watering the leaves got hurt, again... I'm cosidering just buying bottled water for the plants, cause the tab water is garbage chlorine and other minerals could be causing ph problems when I mist and water.
Also I took a lady bug from my flowers and gave it a home with the plants, see how that turns out.

Quick shot. Still lot of work left, I got the Chemdawg pheno looking better but now one of my BC Mango pheno is hurting, it's just never the way we wanted it to be. The Jamaicans and the Brainstorm phenos are thriving. Let's go Girls August is time to flower baby!!

Gave all my plants a soil upgrade. Now they all have around 30 L of rich organic soil mix, added bone meal and dolomitic lime (Dolomite is an anhydrous carbonate mineral composed of calcium magnesium carbonate, ideally CaMg2; Wikipedia.)

I hope they can grow a lot more now that they have room to spread the roots. As well I reduced the photoperiod by 30 mins, they have 14 hours 30 mins lights on, 9 hours 30 mins lights off.

Looking forward to see my plants get completely well, some phenos are hurting more than others.

I Watered today used some bone meal 2-13-0, first watering since the repotting. They are showing lot of progress, but Im still not happy with some phenos; some of their leaves are showing some sort of problem I cant figure out what seems to be causing this. Im starting to convince myself the tab water is really unpure and causes some sort of ph problem, even when I water with fresh tap water it just doenst work, I myself don't drink the tap water I buy. I think soon I will start buying distilled water and using to water. Overall I cant complain but It could get better.

Went in for some pictures today with a better light. They are setting them selfs for an upcoming flowering, I went and got them bottled water exclusively for misting and watering hopefully this can get them to stop having PH related problems. Next Sunday I will subtract 30 mins of day light. They have adapted to their new soil seems like the repotting was a success, now Im expecting some results.
Fingers crossed.
