Let's Go Summer Grow - Experimenting With My Own Crossbreeding - Summer Sativas

Good bounce back Danish, it's tough to lose a crop. I hate when things go wrong. I think that your Ph fluctuations were causing issues. Cuz some leaves look like phosphorus deficiency while other potassium. Looks like things are better with the bottled water. Do you have Ph testing stuff?

Girls are finally taking off, since I stopped using the tap water the plants are showing a much better response, the BC mango that had the worst shape is showing some real progress, the chemdawg pheno (only survivor from the devastation a month ago) is 90% back to full shape, all the plants showing some growth Im really happy. What really made a difference was giving them that whole lot of fresh soil to spread the legs. Chemdawg & Bc Mango pheno are showing pistils, the rest seem to be building up.

Snidrajsed Thanks for stoping by, yeah after stoping the tap water plants are showing progress and quicker growth. I don't have the PH tester kit, never had it...but then again I have always had this PH problems now that I look back at all my grows. This grow just confirmed what I suspected, to much crap in the tap water (I don't even drink it) guess I have to find a cheap way to get filtered water. For now bottled water is costing 1,99$ for 4 litres that's one service for all my plants so I'm looking at 5$ a month since I water once every 2 weeks.

Today plants got watered using bone meal 2-13-0 as well did some adjustment to the photoperiod. Took 30 mins of light, they are down to 14 hrs On/10 hrs off until September 1st. They show a lot of progress since they day of the repotting which was only 2 weeks ago, Im very glad I figured out the whole Ph problems caused by the water, all the phenos seem headed in the right direction. Got some training done on the Chemdawg pheno she's showing some promising colas.

Hey Danish

Sorry to see that your first crop fell to ph issues. It happens. I suspected the worst when catching up and seeing that you boiled pineapple with your veggie tea. It's way too acidic and there are enzymes that break down organic material quite efficiently. My tongue became raw from eating a half a fresh pineapple in Hawaii.

What are you mixing into the water? just bone meal? You may want to add something to substitute for the potash that it lacks. Also find some beneficials to add to the mix, they may help stabilize the ph and break down any organic material still left in the soil.

Thanks for stopping buy. I should have known better than to give that tea to my plants, mixed with the tap water... But at the same time it had to happen so I would learn. Now I know better some things that work for humans dont really work for plants.

Since I changed to the bottled water the plants seem to be liking it. For now Im just using Bone Meal once every two weeks, most of the time I use plain water to grow my plants, thats why they show problems here and there. I try to stay as organic as possible, meaning I dont use bottled nutrients. I use stuff like molasses, worm castings, egg shells, oyster shells, DE... Thanks for the tip on the potash I didnt really think of that, I will look into organic ways to add that.

:Namaste:

The Chemdawg pheno started flowering ahead of the rest, tailing is one of the BC Mango phenos. Training Chemdawg gave some nice results, she developed two secondary colas that are thriving while the main cola is pulling out lots of side branches.

:yummy:

The BC mango pheno that is flowering has some nice side branching but seem a little stretchy, I guess its environment and genetics... I compare side to side with the other BC mango pheno and they have very different structures.

The photoperiod shouldn't allow them to explode into flower yet, but then again this could be a proof that this two phenos have some indica roots in them, as the photoperiod gets closer to 12 hours of darkness I should expect the other phenos more "sativa dominants" to start flowering (Brainstorm & Jamaican Sat).

On a side note I ordered a new supplement/plant food called Sea Grow 4-26-26 "blend of botanical seaweed extract, blood meal, organic carbon, amino acids, carbohydrates, primary N-P-K plant foods, yucca extract and micronutrients".

Today girls got watered and misted, made sure I gave them an extra dose of precious liquid because I will be gone for the weekend. I just use bottled water for this one, its really helped with the ph problems I the had earlier. Next big watering scheduled for September 1st as well photoperiod changes. Jamaican Sat and Brainstorm phenos are still showing some signs of deficiencies, I will start using a new NPK: 4-26-26 organic plant food, the current bone meal Im using is NPK: 2-13-0, so they are most likely missing potash.

Its amazing how fast the Chemdawg pheno flowers from the rest considering the lights are 14on/10off. I Did some more training on her stretching out all the branches to get the inside more light.
I love how all the phenos are reacting to this photoperiod its really displaying all these little details that make every pheno unique, like the BC Mango phenos both showing very different traits.

Just 3 days I was gone and such a change they went thru. Today I watered all the plants with a gallon of bottled water and 3 tea spoons of 4-26-26 plant food, hopping they get better and better they're still showing some details, some more than others. This Chemdawg pheno gave me a surprise... I found some pretty but menacing pollen sacks, located at the very lower part of the plant (It looked very suspicious), I took it out but Im really hoping she can stabilize as we get closer to 12/12. I want to think its stress related and its gonna be alright I really like her and I don't want to be forced to let her go... Besides that, she is building up to be a very nicely, oh she's gonna make me a very happy grower.

The taller pheno is getting to tall so I applied some training. She also went crazy the days I wasn't here, she is getting more and more interesting as flowers. Im crossing my fingers she doesn't hermie, because something tells me she might tend to foxtail... she is very stretchy.
The shorter more bushy pheno is showing some nice pistils, thats some good news.

Getting better and better, still room for progress. For some reason they are more beat up than the rest. Now I can see the different traits, the small pheno is a regular Jamaican and the taller one is a first generation cross (feminized) she is showing some pistils, the small pheno more deficient and no signs of sex.

Last but not least, she is starting to stack up as well. Looking a lot like a previous Brainstorm pheno I grew a while ago. Also a little beat up but she is a fighter. All the traning was done, the watering, the check up everything set. Just need to adjust the new photoperiod.

Thanks for the kind words Snidrajsed! Gotta say the girls seem to be getting better and better as they start to flower, showing their identities. Hopefully with the new plant food and a whole lot of love they can stay green and provide the much needed uplifting meds.

Watered using molasses, daily mist and inspection. Photoperiod adjustment 30 mins less of light now they are down to 13:30 hrs on//10:30 hrs off.
:drool:Looking forward for the coming changes tis month will bring.
