Lewydeville’s Perpetual DWC With Fruit Spirit 2018

So I've finally finished the trimming thank god. I'm over the moon with how she's done now time to get to bed.

Its been a busy 24hrs for my grow room. After that epic trimming session it was nice to get in the flower room, give it a clean and make some adjustments ready for the next run. I bought some tent expanders a while back as my exhaust fan is way over powered for my tent and sucks the sides in to the point where I'm losing 12 to 18 inches of grow space and they looked a great idea. When I tried them first time around the plastic arms just aren't quite up to the job and my fan pulled them and my tent back in on itself. So to overcome this I've run a 3 inch pipe from an outside vent into the tent as a passive intake to relieve the pressure a little. Working a treat now, I can zip everything up and it still sucks it tight but the expanders hold firm. I've also set up my heating fan as winter is on its way and I'm sure I'll need it before this run is over. After this I moved the six Fruit Spirit from the veg tent into their new home, gave them all a fresh res and a light haircut for some.

Nice clean veg and flower areas.
The trimmed bud looks awesome and look like a pretty decent yield too. Nice job.
What goes in the veg tent next?

Thanks Scrogdawg, I think I'm going to be really happy with the yield. The mother produced a fantastic amount ice hash from it's trim last time so I should do well considering I've got 5 times the amount for next run. I've got 2 RQS Blue Mistic, 2 Fruit Spirit clones, 1 Tangie and 1 Holy Grail Kush for the veg tent.

Update:
So I've been lucky enough to get away with the family over the weekend which was great. It did mean I had to leave my garden for 4 days so it was nice to get back and check everything was running smooth and still alive! First off the bud I have drying seems to be blessed with perfect conditions as I believe it is right where it should be for a nice slow dry. My previous run came ready and was chopped just as the summer temps started to soar which dried the bud way to fast. In the flower tent I came home to some good growth but I felt I needed to give them a strip as I some were to bushy for me. I'm hoping for some fat colas this run. I've had mixed results so far with the seeds I started on Wednesday, the Tangie was first out but its been wearing its seed case as a helmet until today so the seedling has stretched a little but should be fine. 1 Blue Mistic is out but no show with the 2nd seed or the Holy Grail Kush. I've not given up hope on them yet tho. I apologize for the quality of my pictures i should have a better camera this week.

Second Blue Mystic bean popped out of its shell today so just waiting on the Holy Grail Kush. Temps are dropping on the nights so hooked up the heating in the veg tent apart from that not much else to report. Planning an ice hash run this Friday or Saturday so should be interesting.

I'd like to jump in here to soak up more knowledge. We have practice grown several 5 gal bucket runs with some 2-4 year old bag seeds in soil with FF nutes. Did OK harvests but also learned a ton. Now been experimenting with a one bucket DWC in a tent. All DIY except for the air and water pumps. Glad to be here. I also hope to glean some knowledge about the Ice Hash so any details you can post will be greatly appreciated. BTW, I grow for medical purposes and use infused oil for migraines, back pain and PTSD.

Welcome Old Timer. Anyway I can help just ask my friend. You couldn't of picked a better time for learning about ice hash as I'm doing a run today and probably tomorrow! I'll be posting picks of the whole process. In a few weeks I should have my rosin press as well if you're into rosin.

Without doubt when I started to purchase everything I needed to make ice hash the thought of am I wasting my money for little return entered my mind every time I got my wallet out. My god I’m glad I did!! I started with some good quality bubble bags and then went the whole hog and bought a portable washing machine as well. There are some fantastic guides on the internet and all I’ve done is follow along and this is what I’ll be showing in my photos. The key to hash making is organization, keeping everything ice cold and you need good material. I find hash making very therapeutic and my favourite part of harvest. Here are some pictures of what you need. Any questions just ask.

I start off by filling the machine with ice and some in the 220 micron bag containing the weed.

I place the bag in the machine and I want high quality hash so I spin for 10 mins or less normally. At the same time make sure your spray bottle and utensils are as cold as you can make them.

So as soon as the machine stops I empty straight into the bubble bags. Then as I take each bag, draining it I place into the bowl then carefully turn inside out. I use the spoon and the spray to push the hash into a pile to spoon onto my pressing mat

So once dry if it’s high quality you get a really melty hash and I love top the bowl off in my vape. Whatever you do with it, sit back, relax and say good bye to your tolerance!!

ive never made it before but I'm intrigued. How much material will you use to make the hash?

I normally use what I've got. I think I may have been lazy and over filled the machine bag on this run which I feel makes a difference. I did a Vanilla Kush run after but only used 4 bags. The 160 and 120 to catch the crap then the 45 and 25 micron so I've got a nice little block of that.

So I better weight this up before my taste testing starts to effect yield!!
Fruit Spirit
120 micron = 0.7 g
90 micron = 2.2 g
73 micron = 1.3 g
45 micron = 1.3 g
25 micron = 1.1 g

Total 6.6 grams

Not bad from one plant. I didn't do a second wash as this is plenty enough for me until next harvest. Ive still got 4grams of blueberry hash from last run.

Vanilla Kush
For this I only collected at 45 micron and 25 micron using the 160/120 for collecting the garbage.
45 micron = 4.1g
25 micron = 0.7 g

Total 4.8 grams

Grand total = 11.4 grams

I paid 90 euros in Amsterdam for ice-o-later which was not half as good as this so technically the equipment pays for its self in one run.
