Lewydeville’s Six Strain DWC

The opposite of my Sorbet cross then lol

I didn’t see it coming mate. Who’d of thought at the start it would become the most powerful grower in the tent? I read in your journal how yours looked sickly some days only to right it’s self with no interference and I totally agree mine was the same. It smells wicked! I’m excited I think it could be a good one.

Sup prof. I did try to do it with the straighteners a couple of days ago ( followed utube vids idea) but didnt have any parchment or greaseproof so used foil ....dickhead!!! got something resembling crackle from my hash but couldnt separate it from the foil as too thin a film. screwed up about an eighth of nice hash too. doh!!
Those bottle jacks are everywhere for peanuts prof , as are used irons !!( see where my thinking is going mate ?) If we could fashion a frame to hold an irons bottom plate solid against a flat metal plate (£10-iron , £5-bottle jack(used)) , we could d.i.y for a hell of a saving and experiment. Irons also have variable temp settings. If you felt flash then this could be a criteria for the used iron too. The steam holes and grooves could easily be filled with "liquid Metal" that is for car head cracks so can take serious heat. Not expensive either and comes in a tube from car shops. Only need to wedge them together somehow for the jack to add pressure. maybe a timber frame as we are not trying to press steel afterall. sorry mind is off on one. lol. Kids means improvise.lol

Couple of pictures from yesterday. I gave everything a res change in both tents. I’m going away for 5 days so want everything perfect and settled before I leave. I’ll be flipping to 12/12 tonight so it should be nice to come home and see the difference. In the veg tent I’ve moved everything into its own bucket. I’m probably going to use just 4 strains for the seed run and use the Fruit Spirit to pollinate.

Gave the girls a last going over before I flipped over to 12/12 today. Some of these aren’t the biggest but summers coming and so are the high temps so just want to get them done now. Might have found a big reason things have been slow this grow, looks like my Mars Hydro 900 veg light has broken at some point. I’ve only realised today so for all I know it could’ve been broke for a while? Bloom still seems to work ok so I’m going to grab some colloidal silver and see if I can make some seeds.

Does anyone know if this is an easy fix?

It’s been four days since the flip and I’m back from my little break away with the family. I think just in time as the ph was way off in most of the buckets. The plants looked ok but on the verge if you know what i mean. I’ve topped everything up and ph’ed to 5.7 so hopefully they’ll look better in a day or two. Here are some pictures just before lights on.

@Lewydeville Everytime I check out your journal I am impressed with your technique. Do you the similar with clones at all? I may have some clones coming my way so I was wondering

Hey Dro, yes I’ve been running the same Fruit Spirit clones for the last 4 runs and I’ve always used the same technique. Clones don’t grow even like seeds but it’s just about splitting the dominance in a branch and getting a nice shape.

More mistakes with this grow. What with my veg light being broken for god knows how long I’ve decided to flip to 12/12 for best part of a week without the led bloom switched on! On a more positive note the Sorbet Dream smells just incredible. Rubbing the stem gives off a scent like nothing I’ve smelt in cannabis before. A few pics before lights on

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Hey Lew, looking fantastic still. Did you get the led sorted? It happened to my Platinum P600. I contacted them and they said that it was that one of the drivers had blown. They sent me a new driver free of charge but I had to install it myself. On closer inspection I noticed that most of the leds which were linked to that driver had burnt out. Completely melted would be a better description of what they looked like. The driver would have been simple enough to install though so it may just be a case of doing that. From your pic though it looks like 3 drivers may have gone

Not been able to sort it yet Prof. I think I’m going to grab a new light so I’m sorted then try and fix the broken one for a spare. I was going to upgrade soon so not the end of the world but I’m frustrated in myself for not checking regularly but valuable lesson learnt. Did you get the Straighteners out?

Don't worry it happens. Led manufacturers say that their will last 30,000+ hours before you need to change them but I've found that there are plenty of things that can go wrong with them that'll cut their lives short. I've had 4 lights that have broken now. One one of them the fans on the left stopped working which caused it to overheat. UV diodes are another thing which kept going wrong with mine. lol I did get the straighteners out but it doesn't have a temp setting and I think it was too hot. The bud looked burnt and their was barely any oil worth collecting. I'll try some rosin eventually lol

I would of expected it to last a lot longer than it did even if I did get my money’s worth. I did some pressing this weekend :p

I’ve still not pressed any proper buds yet only fluffy light bits that I hardly trimmed. I don’t know what I’m more excited about...the rosin or "hardly trimmed"!! Lol

Lol hardly trimmed sounds good to me buddy. It's looks yummy in your pictures. Are you happy with the return? I'd have no problem pressing fluffy stuff like you said but I think I'd be nervous to throw a quarter of some dankness in there, especially until I was sure I wouldn't screw up lol. But good job and the plants still look good I think even wit the light issues.

Hey Cookie if you’re thinking of getting a press definitely go for it mate. So much fun but convenient too. It was one of the ways I justified buying mine being able to cut down on the trimming. Now I’ve got one I’m thinking come harvest I might just chop the fan leaves off each plant and press the lot! It’s that good. So far I’m seeing a pattern of 1.3 grams return on the first press and 0.2 lower grade on the second press per 7 grams of flower. I’ve yet to press any of my proper bud as I’ve got a shed load of fluffy lower grade bud to get through first. As far as the plants I should at least get to try some nice strains even if some aren’t the biggest in size. Hope all is well with you mate. I checked out your journal earlier and looking very nice.

Had to give an early res change to the Sorbet Dream today. It was looking hungry and what was left in the bucket was low ppm. Tent is starting to fill up now and with potentially another two weeks of stretch. It should make for an interesting canopy.
