Light cycle

This will be my third time out. I've been running a 24/7 light cycle, but with 400w metal halide the electric bill is eating me alive. Starting fresh I want to go with a 18/6 light cycle, but not sure how much time will be added to the vegetative phase of growth. Can someone add insight?

LEDs - good light, low cost, low heat
Turn off and unplug all the energy vampires around your grow shop.
18/6 is good for autos.

Well, an auto plant can handle the 24/7 light.
A pheno/normal plant wants to have her lights out in order to grow.
Just like in nature, sunlight and night time.

I knew that at one time, but lost sight of it. They seem to shoot up under 24/7. So they might mature in about the same time with better results, huh? Thanks.

I run mine 18/6 in veg. I used to run 24 on. But there was no difference in growth at all. Why waste your money?
