Light distance LED & correct spectrums

hello im growing in a coco coir mix and i have 3 plants going that are about 8 weeks on and about 3 weeks into flower possibly, im not sure i just finished work so im a bit tired and wanted to get answers quickly with this. im running a mother tent .8x.8.1.6 and i do have a bigger 1.5x.1.5x2 coming this week but for now i have a problem of my plants touching the light. i have adjusted the light today however one plant is way taller than the others and that (funny enough was the one that struggled and nearly died at the start) one was just touching the light so i had to adjust it. I am now in a position where iv raised the light as high as i can in the tent and it puts the tallest one about 1.5 feet away from the light and the others are about 2 feet away from the light give or take a few inches. im just wanting to know what is the correct height away from the plants and i also got told blue spectrum isnt good for the plants with the red spectrum even though this is the manufactures specs so just wanted some clarification with these questions?

my set up:

.8x.8x1.6 tent
viperspectra 700 par LED 700W
2 x NYC diesel Auto
1 NL from the seedsman
humidity is sitting around 30-50%
20" fan inside the tent

this one below is the NL she seems quite stumpy rather than gaining any height?

The one in the back right is the other NYC looking for his haircut.

any advice is greatly appreciated.

Looking good, I would tip that tall plant. This forces the side growth to flush out, and if your lucky the plant will "table", i.e., form a flat top to accept all the light equally. Once you tip you can also do some lst, pulling the branches outward with wire to get the desired shape. Here's is some pix of what I mean:

those look amazing! i just did some more light defoliation i hope i didnt cut off too much but because my smaller ones are so bushy i can tell no light is getting to the bottom branches and theyre twisting through and bending over each other. i have very small thin ones coming through as well but im not sure if it will bloom in time just because theyre extremely thin and i only have a few weeks left but would love some advice on that. as for the tipping i thought i was a bit too late into flowering to tip as they are autos and wont recover in the next 4 weeks before harvest (atleast i hope its 4 weeks)?? the other two are small and spreading outwards even without tipping them so is it an idea to do it on them?

heres what she looks like now and there's some of the ones that are bending through.

not sure what to do about those as i dont want her wasting energy trying to progress what wont get done in time, is this normal?? this is my first grow and im just playing it all by ear.

Hey, missed the fact that they are autos, so not sure if they respond well to tipping, and it would have to be earlier most likely. I think pruning is the same though, if you get rid of the low small buds and leaves, the top ones grow more. I usually tip my cloned regulars two or three times as mothers in a stasis tent, and then I only had to veg them 6 weeks before I had them spread out enough to flip. Right at flip I shaved them all off level and doubled the number of colas.

yeah i don't have time to do regulars unless someone had clones at the right time for me to grab. so im in the position where i can let the smaller branches grow and see how it all turns out. i dont want to do any more defoliation but these things are getting covered with leaves, this is the second time iv had to defoliate in abot 4 weeks. just want them to be done already so i can try 4 weeks in veg on some normal fems and then 8 weeks in flower and see how it goes on them. i hear i get more yield if theyre clones and i just do it that way.

If the stem is pliable bend it slowly and tie it down with something soft. A strip of t-shirt will work if it's all you have.

Whatever the seedbank said about your auto add 10-14 days to that. They tend to lie about the 60-70 day thing, they will also inflate yield info.

fingers crossed i can get about 6 ozs of dry weight across all 3 plants. thats my end goal and i have hopes for the tall one but the others im pretty worried about. i went off the yields from the grow diaries people put up and from their techniques as im not sure of my area squared and my techniques i mean if you look at my journal, at the start my tallest one was almost dead i nearly threw it out i messed up so bad and now shes the cream of the crop. im just trying to get these done before my honeymoon otherwise im screwed.

Depending on the auto I have 4 under a ts1000 (150w wall draw), all at 60 days and maybe 5% red hairs. Prolly looking at 20 more days if I'm lucky.

Figure 70 - 90 on any auto.

Near perfect grow you can get 1.5gm per Watt of light. More likely .75gm to 1gm per. Your max wattage on that light is 326 wall pull so you could pull down a good chunk.

fingers crossed, the white hairs are really sprouting all over today and the colas are really pulling out from every angle to get the light. i just need my new damn tent so theyre not so cramped up to the walls.

I hear ya I have 4 auto in a 3x3 packed like sardines. The Power Plant have stacked colas 5 or 6 inches tall and 3 across can't wait lol

Dunno might be blocking some lower limbs from light but they are fat and happy. Open the tent and the stench at the top will knock you over and trichomes are populated thickly.

This next round it's 3 per tent in 3x3s. I'm up to three 3x3 now, two flowering and one with 6 in veg waiting for the flowering tents.

Check out my journal now, the tall ones hit 87cms and is 20cms away from the light and I cant put it any higher. Not sure what to do now as my tent isn't in yet and probs won't be for another 4-7days. Possibly going to borrow a tent until mine arrives, the two smaller ones are both sitting at 47cms and they're branching outwards rather than up high so I may chuck either them outside or the tall one and keep the other two in the tent and lower the light down to see if they stretch in early flower. They're supposed to be 75cms minimum and the fact that one's hit 87 means atleast one of the small plants can do it, theyre just being lazy.

Just wondering, since the big girls growing like a Christmas tree shape is there any way to lst the main stem at this point? There's Soo many little branches pushing through and IV tried to tie a heap of them down and now I'm at the point where I physically can't tie anymore down... I don't want to end up with like 7-8 branches just filled with popcorn nuggets and since this grow is going so well I'm just wondering if it's too late to improve my yield?

Will the stem bend without breaking, and how long left to harvest.

If it'll bend go for it.

When they get unmanageable I take wooden dowels and push them through the grow container, then pull limbs open
With the dowels and soft tie down cord.

Leaving it Christmas tree you fall into an inverse light trap. You can have the One Cola fat with flower and as distance drops away smaller buds because light intensity drops drastically with distance.

Or you can provide light to half the plant evenly and have several large colas.

I'd rather see 6 or 7 huge colas as opposed to the one on top the Xmas tree.

Matter of preference but most people on the forum LST or Scrog to get more colas.

that's a fair point i was getting a tomato cage today, remove the ties on the bottom ones and pull them all out and around to try spread the light. ill see if i can bend the top through the to bar off to like the right or something and i need to work out how to get a portable cfl light to hang down and plug into the timer so i can try get the other side a bit more developed.

That's why I use 2 ts600 to spread light evenly and if need be one lower than the other.

Come to think of it I have a whole box of 6500k CFL might have to Frankenstein something up lol
