Lighting question

Would I be able to use a 500watt WorkForce light with a UV filter?

I'm trying to build a grow room with the materials I have around at home, any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't have thought so, but a 600w hps bulb is only $20 or so

No, that's a Halogen bulb. They're no good for growing anything. They also produce dangerous levels of heat.

CFLs work, Fluorescents work (T5, T8), Metal Halide/High Pressure Sodium, and SOME specific LED's work. Not all LEDs will work.
