Lights completely off

I was just at a seed site, and one of the suggestions for a particular strain, was to completely turn off the lights for the last two weeks of flowering. The rationale being that the plant will go into shock, and produce extra resin to protect itself.

Is this true for all plants? Is it true at all? lol Anyone tried this? Thanks!!

i have been told you can do the make more resin by 3-5 days before harvest change light back to 18-6 has anyone heard of this one

2 weeks? That's nuts.

I've heard 48 hours max. Even that's total bullshit IMO. Any time with the lights off is denying growing time.

Longer dark periods will speed things up, but will reduce yield. You can increase yields by going to 13 hours of light and 11 hours of darkness but it will take a little longer to finish.

Plants need light to grow.

I say 12 hrs. light thru flowering.After 4 weeks i went from 12 to 10 for a week to induce flowering,well i got lots of little flowers,but they are now struggling to keep up with the tops,which have been growing at a steady rate.
