LST and broke a branch

I was doing some LST and snapped a branch clean in half, it was just hanging on by the skin. I propped it up against the wound and have left it. I think it might survive and if it does how long does it normally take to heal? Also am I better off to supercrop this branch if it survives or will the mend be strong enough for LST after healing?

Tape her up and if you have anything suitable to hand splint the break, there will be a good chance she will repair stronger than before.

No I didn't have any tape handy, all I did was prop up the branch so the break joined. It was two hrs ago and there doesn't seem to be a lot of dropping. Sorry no pics I went into panic mode lol.
