Mag7s Iconic Holiday Forever High Brix

Hey there Brixxers, things are a bit slow in the flower room. Starting week 3 flower and we’re not seeing any calyx formations. I chopped down 7 yes seven males from the 20 total popped. With that amount of males I decided to not pollinate this round. I didn’t see anything that made me want to continue the search. But I get to use this grow as another experience to lead me forward.

Here forward I’ll be playing with some lemon strains and try to work them the best I can for what I have. Thanks for watching and follow me on IG @iconicholidaygardens.

Yooooo, happy Sunday funday everyone. So today I'm looking for Light upgrades. Either Samsung or quantum is where I'm at right now. Though I'm just not sure what to get. I could use some help with what's going to work best. I'm sure anything is better than these mars refectors. they've done me well but I can see that they are just average and it's time.

Other than that I've been feeding RO and nothing else as this N toxicity is very prevalent and need to be addressed. things are just now kicking into gear as WK3 of flower has ended and no buds set. or anything close to it. they are scheduled for a CAT feeding next but that won't happen. The schedule has to be adjusted due to this and they drink almost everyday now. this is where things are different due to small pots and frequent needs. if I feed TP next I'll have to make sure they get a GE before the CAT. Though I need to be patient as well and pay close attention as to not let them get to far past bud set before the CAT drench. I feel like I'll be walking the line trying to plan the new time line. maybe I'm over thinking as well and everything will be fine.

Thoughts...

I like the LED panels. You can do the HLG ones or there are some knock offs that a few of us are using. Those are cheaper. I am not trying to sell you one way or the other just letting you know what I am using. @Graytail is the light wizard.

When it comes to the comparison to Mars and such, will they do better no matter? I’ve found a few and chatting with the customer service folks. Look at kits like this

Hopefully you can see the image. Yo @Graytail can ya help a bit

That driver will run 4 boards. Here is the driver I have on my HLG 550 . Should drive 2 boards hard. Sure @Graytail will chime in with the knowledge.

Ok cool! I’m waiting on a few replies and then I can choose what I need.

But first I have to give a freaking rescue drench this evening. Ugh, it was going so well lol

The Folite (and the other various FOs) kits are matched and complete, so that's the easiest way to go. :thumb: But the info on this one doesn't look correct. The 480H driver will supply 480 watts, which is too much for 2 boards. It should be the 240H. :hmmmm:

The value number you want to shoot for with QBs is about a buck a watt. So $170 (plus shipping) for 240 watts is a good value.

And 650 watts of Samsung diodes will provide roughly the same intensity as 1000 watts of hps. 25 watts per square foot of canopy will do nicely.

:Namaste:

:thumb: I like that one.

480 watts should be enough for a 4x4. That's roughly the same as 720 watts of hps. I'm running mine at 40 watts/sqft and it's too much light unless the environment is perfect.

Awesome!! That what I’m trying to get but not for a 4x4. I have a 6x2.5 so I need to heat sinks and not one large one. I’m going back and forth with the manufacture but they don’t understand and keep offering me shit I do t want. Lol fuckers...

Not sure on that one, but I have seriously considered adding some UV and far red into my mix for what it is worth. Not sure if there is that much advantage, but mother nature has both and I am liking to follow her lead.

Happy Friday, well today is just another day in Brix life. So let’s start shall we.

So hers what’s happend, going back a few weeks I flipped to flower and I amended as usual. But this time I when with a quick cheap buy of EWCs. Thinking everything would be fine; these were hot and bam, the downhill began.

The EWC were high in Nitrogen. So what occurred or what I believe occurred was this. I added 1 tsp to each 1 gal pot. The EWCs in believe disrupted the microbial colony. throwing the soil out of wack. First it gave a N toxicity, clawed curled over my green leaves. I saw this and began to water feed. Next came the breakdown of cellular tissues on a few plants. Dark rusty brown colored spots began to show on the lead margins and a crisp feel came over a few leaves. Not many, it seems that the couple plants this was happening were trying there best to recover. But it’s to late for the new growth that was affected to fully recover.

I spoke with doc and fed a rescuer drench and then triple strength feeding; 3 in a row with no RO in between. And I was going to skip the CAT this time around.

Now the plants affected were not devastated from this but the microbs definitely slowed. After they took in to much N they then slowed down the processing N as well P and a bit of K. That’s when you could see that plant using up what N was still in her. And the old lower leaves showed signs of chlorosis with dark inerveins.

To be clear, the Peyote Purple crosses are the most affected and I’m not surprised. That strain is very sensitive to positive charched ions and organic matter in the soil. From my observation these plants have slowed. They are finishing wk 6 and just hitting bud set. A couple are doing very well but they will not all be harvested at the same time.

I understand that growing in little pots is very demanding and the soil can get out of wack easily. I knew this was going to have some challenges and that’s one reason I decided to do this. Though this grow style is simple I always have a need for a bit of experimenting. Everything was a bit different this round. From small pots and no training to new lights, environmental controllers and better watering technique. Even so, I’m happier this round than before and look forward to the next as we always do around here.

Ok here are some pics of the good the bad and possibly the ugly. If I have any of those pics lol. Thanks for taking the time to read all of this. I hope I have a good grasp on what happened and continue to learn!!
