Bill Maher has insisted that Zach Galifianakis was not smoking real pot on a recent episode of Real Time With Bill Maher.
The Due Date actor recently stirred up controversy by lighting up what appeared to be rolled marijuana during an interview on the political talkshow.
However, Maher told CNN that Galifianakis would never do something so "crazy".
"If it was a real joint, Wolf, I would have smoked it," he told anchorman Wolf Blitzer.
"I think it was cloves or something. Zach's crazy, he's not that crazy."
Maher's publicist Cece Yorke also addressed the incident, telling E! Online that the joint was simply a "prop" created for use on the show.
