Albany Police Chief James Tuffey fired one of his civilian employees Monday morning after sheriff 's investigators accused the worker of growing pot.

Nineteen-year-old Aaron Kennedy was an Albany public safety officer, but Monday morning he and his four roommates at 463 Washington Ave. were charged with possession and unlawfully growing marijuana.

At full height, the pot plants found in their house could have been sold for close to $20,000 on the street.

The other four men arrested are students.

“We had an informant who saw the marijuana plants and we did a search warrant and went into the house this morning,” Investigator John Burke explained.

Investigators say they also found street signs and videotape of the men stealing the signs.
