Making canna butter with hot water???

I’ve been making canna butter for a short while, so I’m not super experienced. I have recently seen posts that say to simmer the cannibis and butter, and once it’s ready, strain it through a cheese cloth, and then to pour hot water on the remaining THC and butter to get the remaining THC/butter out.

Being butter is oil based it would float on the water, and when the butter cools, the water is dumped out leaving the THC infused butter.

Is anyone doing this? It seems like a wise thing to do given a significant amount of butter and THC could still be on the cheese cloth/strainer. Any thoughts.

It works, it’s also completely irrelevant unless you’re making batches of oil in the 10+ lb range. I made 3 lb, rinsed the T-shirt with plant matter in boiling water and cooled it off. I probably got an extra 1/8tsp.. literally nothing. I didn’t even take the time to scrape it off the side of the cup, I just said fuck it and washed it.
