It is strong smelling stuff. Whew. Bought some almond oil today. I’ll try it mix some in today. I’ll try some drops under my tongue as well as the old hands.
The dry weed does have a smell while it is in the oven but no one has objected yet. If the weed is left in the oven at 170F for an hour or so the smell starts to go away. Maybe this is because of the last bits of moisture being driven out of the buds and leaves and once truly dry the smell is gone.
Only have enough to make 300 ml this time, a little over a cup. Going to try it as a cream for arthritis. I’m going to need a lot of weed if this cream works.
Shortly after my earlier msg in January I did change my ratio of weed buds, popcorn buds and leaves from 1 gram per 15 ml to 1 gram per 10 ml of melted coconut oil. Everyone is happier with the new salve. We have 4 people using the stuff, me, my wife, our daughter and a buddy who gets some for his 95 year old mother.
Our daughter broke several fingers one afternoon a couple of years ago. When the old breaks start to hurt she uses the cream which she says is better than the stuff that one of the guys in the machine shop she manages makes. Several weeks ago she fell down the stair, broke a bone or two in her foot, and brags that the salve is helping her heal from the outside into the center of her foot.
My buddy bought his mother some CBD cream from the drug store and she told him it did nothing for her worn out knee. He picked up some salve, tried it himself, and told his mother about it. She did not want anything made by an old hippie because it might make her get loopy and jump off the roof. I told him to tell her that 1, I would not do that to her and 2 she can barely walk around the kitchen so how will she get on the roof. She now lets him know, before her small container is empty, that it is time for him to ask for more.
The stuff works. It might not get rid of all the pain but it helps a lot. The wife and I have mentioned to the doctors that we each use the salve and they say "OK" and move on. Still have not had any doctor, including one who is a relative and is against 'recreational use' say to stop or otherwise discourage the medical use of Cannabis for salve for pain, etc.
