Making Veg Glycerine Tincture

I've got some bud that has been stored in mason jars, in a dark cool place for 2-3 years. I see trichomes and there is some odor when opening a jar. Is this bud still ok for making tincture? I like making with veg glycerine. I dont smoke, or use alcohol.eace.
