Man Attempts to Eat Handful of Marijuana After Traffic Stop

Gainesville, FL - A man who was pulled over for not using his turn signal wound up going to jail for allegedly trying to eat a handful of marijuana.

Gainesville Police said the man would have only been charged with a misdemeanor for possession of marijuana, but was charged with the a felony for tampering with evidence when an officer saw the man put it in his mouth and start chewing.

Robert Michael Grady Jr., 27, was arrested at 2:36 a.m. Monday and also charged with habitually driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officer Bryon Carroll said that when he pulled Grady over, he saw him in the driver's seat holding a large handful of a green, leafy substance that was later confirmed as marijuana. According to Carroll, Grady put the substance in his mouth and began to chew

Grady was booked into the Alachua County jail.

If I was the cop I would tell him keep chewing. Swallow it all so I do not see it and then send him on his stomach ache way. From misdemeanor to felony, that sucks!
