Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils™ is proud to launch the new and improved Hemp Bliss Organic Hempmilk. The only organic hempmilk on the market, Hemp Bliss has a new milder and creamier taste, 25% calcium, and more culinary versatility. Still free from common allergens, Hemp Bliss Organic Hempmilk is packed with nutrients like Omega-3 and Omega-6.

“The new Hemp Bliss is designed to appeal to a broader palate and to be a healthy alternative to dairy milk,” says President and co-founder Mike Fata. “We added more calcium (25% of the daily recommended intake) and created a creamy, smooth, allergen-free alternative that has a mouth-feel similar to dairy milk,” notes Fata. “We also added organic hemp oil which provides Hemp Bliss with even more healthy Omega-3 and a creamier texture.”

Consumer demand for non-dairy milk alternatives has been growing for many years due to concerns about dietary sensitivities as well as vegetarian preferences. Hemp Bliss stands out from the herd of other non-dairy alternatives including soy, rice and almond because it has a strong nutrition profile, and it does not raise concerns regarding food sensitivities.

Hempmilk contains more Omega 3, 6 and 9 EFAs than any other dairy or non-dairy milk alternative, and those EFAs are present in hemp in an ideal ratio. Hemp foods also have a strong digestible protein profile, fiber and an abundance of vitamins and minerals.

Among the biggest improvements to Hemp Bliss Organic Hempmilk are the coloring, texture, mouth-feel and culinary versatility. Now you can add Hemp Bliss to hot beverages such as coffee and tea without concern for separation. Hemp Bliss’s new culinary properties also make it an ideal substitute for dairy milk and other ingredients in baking and cooking recipes.

What has not changed is Manitoba Harvest’s commitment to organic and natural ingredients. “We are proud to be the only organic hempmilk on the market, and we use only organic hemp seed, hemp oil, acacia & guar gum, organic vanilla flavoring and fair trade cocoa powder. All of the ingredients in the new Hemp Bliss are natural and sourced under the company’s mission to support sustainable farming and environmentally friendly practices.

Hemp Bliss Organic Hempmilk is offered in four flavors – Unsweetened Original, Original, Vanilla or Chocolate. Beginning in April 2010, the new Hemp Bliss will be available at leading health food stores across North America like Whole Foods and at major grocery chains such as Loblaws. It can also be ordered online at Manitoba Harvest | Home.

Founded in 1998, Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils is the world’s largest vertically-integrated, farmer owned hemp food manufacturer. The company strives to create the healthiest hemp foods, to educate the public about healthy lifestyle choices, and to support sustainable and organic agriculture. Other products available from Manitoba Harvest include shelled hemp seed, hemp oil, hemp seed butter, and a full line-up of hemp protein powders. Manitoba Harvest is proud to partner with Renewable Choice Energy to reduce their environmental impact through wind power and carbon offsets.

I have nothing but respect and admiration for this company and all others like it, but even I know that just like hemp clothing and the prohibitive cost in purchasing it, you just can't expect a product to be embraced by the masses if most of that mass can't afford the price.
That 1 litre on their site is more expensive then 4 litres of the moo at the local supermarket. Even goat milk which is much better than cow milk is half the price.
I do hope they keep trying though. It would be a nice alternative for those who can afford it.
