A Nebraska State Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle Thursday for speeding and a drug-sniffing dog detected the smell of marijuana coming from a rooftop luggage carrier.

Officials found 122.3 pounds of marijuana and arrested both the driver and passenger on suspicion of distributing drugs.

The driver, 44-year-old Elizabeth Venegas of Santa Rosa, California faces a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Her passenger, 27-year-old Luis Romero-Lopez of Mexico, was jailed for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

A traffic stop on Wednesday led to the discovery of four pounds of marijuana and 18 grams of hashish. A trooper stopped the driver for following too closely and found the drugs after a canine search.

Thirty-four-year-old Jeremy Slagel of Moline, Illinois was taken into custody for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
