Me & The Mars Hydro SP-3000: It's The Cherry On Top

Time to update this journal. I did some up-potting today. The 6 Cherry on Top in 1 gal. pots got moved up to 2 gal. pots.
Normally I'd go to a 3 gal. pot but since these are Reg. Seeds I figured I'd save my soil & use 2 gal. in case of males. They were outgrowing the 1 gal. The 3 Aurora Indica got up-potted also & moved out of the tent. I just can't fit 9 - 2 gal. pots in a 2x4 tent. I got a decent root ball. They were all about the same.

And here they are right after their up-pot & LST.

And as you may have noticed.... All 6 clones have rooted & are in Solo Cups.

Man I feel like an All-Star with this bubble cloner. These things make cloning a breeze.

As I said, I up-potted the 3 Auroras too so I may as well show them one last time. They aren't part of this journal so it's the last time I'll post pics of them.
Pics right after up-pot.

The 3 ladies in their temporary new home basking under a TS1000. I was planning to put them in my new clone tent for a while, but after thinking about it .... it wont work at the moment. The only place I have for that tent is my bedroom closet, which is also my drying area. I'll probably be harvesting some plants in 7-10 days so don't need a grow light putting off light & heating things up in there while trying to dry. So they got a bathroom closet for a couple weeks.

Here's the little tent. It's 36"x20"x63". Fits the Bubble Cloner just right.

Just one more project to complete today. Putting this Composter together. Any Volunteers?....lol.

I am considering the SP-3000. It looks perfect for a 2x4 tent. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can produce. Looking good so far.
So far I'd say it's a great light & perfect in a 2x4. Plants seem to like it as they're growing pretty fast. Next week I'll be putting the clones in a flower tent to find out the sex of each. That will take 2 weeks or so & then the final up-pot. A week later I'll flower. I'm hoping to have one of my grow areas empty by then so I can take a Male "Cherry on Top & cross it with a female "Aurora Indica". Then I can see what Aurora's Cherry is like.

Back with a little update. So this plant here has been growing kind of wonky from the start. In the 1st pic you can see that one of his/her 4 branches just isn't growing like the others. Well, I decided to fix this & lop it off. Slowly bending the branches (LST) to shape a Tri-Lobal Plant. I also Topped the 3 remaining branches so I'll have 6 mains. I kind of think this ones a male by how tall it grew over the other 5.

And this one with it's puffy leaves over watered look is puzzling. I've let this pot dry to where the leaves wilted & I could lift it with one finger & it still has puffy leaves. Not sure if it's some mutant thing or what. Going to let her wilt again & see what happens.

16-133 6-24-22.JPG

Well if any of them end up males I hope it's the two ugly ducklings above. The other 4 look much better. I didn't take individual pics of them, but here they all are in the tent.

Well, things seem to be moving kind of slow in this journal. Mostly because I'm waiting on the clones to show their sex.
That & the fact I've been harvesting a couple of plants this week has kept me pretty occupied. But the girls are getting big. In fact I think they need to be up-potted to their final pots. I can see plenty of roots through the drain holes in the pots they're in. They each drink up about 30 oz. every 2 days. It's getting a little cramped in the tent again so I hope to know the sex of them soon. Here's a pic. Yes, they were drooping as they needed to be fed & pic was taken right at lights on. Sorry, only 1 pic. I think my camera lens was dirty as the other pics were too blurry.
16-143 7-1-22.JPG

The clones are doing well. The 3 bigger ones were on 12/12 a week earlier than the 3 smaller ones. The bigger ones look like they are about to reveal their sex. Seeing small bumps at the node spaces starting to grow. If any are Males I hope it turns out to be #4 & #6 as these 2 look funky to me. A 50/50 split would be perfect for me as I'd like to grow out 2 & use one for a Mother for another 12 plants after this grow.

16-146 7-1-22.JPG

Checked the clones with a magnifying glass this morning. Pretty sure I see hairs on number 2 & 5. #4 I think is putting out balls. Couple of days & I should be able to take pics. Not developed enough yet for pics. Hopefully, I'll know the sex of all of them by the weeks end.

Trim Jail again ! Yes, I'm harvesting the last plant (White Widow) in my "My Grow Journal". I ended up pulling just under 6 oz. on the Aurora Indica plant (162 gr.)
I'm still waiting on 3 of the clones to show their sex. Should be any day now. But here are the other 3 that are showing.
The first 2 plants #2 & #5 are the Females.

16-151 7-8-22.png
16-152 7-8-22.png

And #4 here is a Male. You can tell because there's no hairs (pistils) & that little ball at the node is up on a stem. This will turn into a cluster of grapes soon. So the #4 plant will go in my closet with my Female Aurora for now. Waiting to see if I get a better looking Male before I cross breed the 2 strains.
16-153 7-8-22.JPG
16-154 7-8-22.png

Here's a few pics of the tent. Plants don't seem to like being so crowded & I'm sure they are ready for their final pots.
Hope the other 3 clones show their sex soon so I can pick the 2 I want to keep for this journal. I'm sure hoping #1 is a Female as she's the best looking one.

16-156 7-8-22.JPG
16-157 7-8-22.JPG

Ok, so my plants were getting a little too crowded in the 2x4 tent. Only 4 are Females out of 6 so far. Still waiting on #3 & #6 to show their sex. Never the less, I'm tired of the waiting game so I'm moving forward. I decided to keep the first 2 that showed their sex (#2 & #5). The other 2 Females a friend is picking up this morning. The 2 I don't know what they are, are now in Flower in my shed. The clones from them should tell me the sex any day now.
So, this morning I up-potted the 2 I'm keeping for this journal into their 5 gallon cloth grow bags. In a few days, I'll be Defoliating, Topping the 4 main branches to get 4 clones from each plant & LST-ing these 2 gals. 2-3 weeks after that we can Flower them.
So here's a few pics of the 2 plants with plenty of room to grow.
Before the up-pot & one with roots coming out the bottom. On some of the plants there's 1/2" roots coming out.

And the 2 plants living life large.... lol.

Yikes.... Been 8 days since my last update. Sorry guys. Been working long hours, harvesting & cloning so haven't had much free time to post.
First of all, I forgot to post the Root Ball pics when I up-potted so I'll do that first. I was quite impressed with it so I have to show it.... lol.

If you look at last weeks post you can see how tall my plants were. Well, they aren't as tall anymore. I Topped both of them & took about 12 Clones. Some of the Top Branches were so long I cut them in 3rds & put them in the Cloner to see what happens. Never cut a branch in 3rds & cloned it before. Not sure if it will even work, but why not check it out & see ?
So here are what the 2 "Cherry On Top" look like after their Topping. I flipped them to 12/12 today; so we are starting flower. Hope they don't stretch too much.

And here we have my little Clone set up with the clones I took. Planning to use 4 of these Clones in the 5 gal. Self watering Buckets. Those buckets are rockin' my other grow.

Currently harvesting one of my plants so back to Trim Jail. Spent the last 3 weekends harvesting. I'll finally get a short break from it because my next plants are 2-3 weeks from the finish line.

Also have another Mars Hydro TSL2000 on the way. That will give me 4 of them in my 4x8 tent which is 1200 watts & maxed out for lighting as far as I'm concerned.

This is how the plant in the 5 gal. bucket is doing. She's a beast !
15-425 7-9-22.JPG

That is an impressive root ball, hope you scored it before potting. Congrats on the harvests, but it looks like you should be resting up for that bucket girl; a beast is right. So, it looks like you may have found something there. All 5g buckets now?

I'm going to order another set of 3 buckets on payday. Going to do 3 in my 4x8 tent & 3 in my shed. If they all get this big that's all there will be room for. I definitely have to give this a shot. It's a hell of a lot like feeding Coco though. This gal drinks 1.5 gal. at lights on & another .5 gal about 4 hours later. So 2 gallons per day on just her. I'm just now starting to see a few orange / red pistils.

Remember the 6 Clones I took to determine the sex of my plants ? They all turned out to be Females. Here are those 6 Clones as of today.

May as well let them Flower & get a few joints to try out.... lol.

2 of those plants are in this group of 5. The one on the Far Right & Far Left are the 2 Cherry on Top. 2 of them I gave away. The other 2 are the ones in this journal.

Alright, Alright Already ! I'll do an update.... lol.
I have some pics from earlier this week to post. I'll do those now. But I have more I took last night I'm working on, so I'll be posting them later today or tomorrow.
So remember all the Clones I took before sending the Mothers into Flower ? There are 14 "Cherry on Top" & 6 "Aurora Indica Clones.
16-171 7-23-22.JPG

Here are some of them that rooted a few days ago.

And here they are in their cups. If you look at pic 1 you can see some of the clones look Topped. That was my little experiment to see if they all rooted. It was one branch cut into several pieces & each piece got Cloned. It works !
