Medicann Blue Blood & Medicann Trainwreck

Hi all.

I am new to growing I have one CFL grow under my belt. Jock Horror Autos which turned out ok. I have 4 plants in flowering right now. 2 AK48, 1 Jock Horror Auto and an Ice. All are feminized seeds

My reason I am growing is for my MS and back pain associated with it. I have selected these 2 strains for that purpose. The Trainwreck for pain (my back and my wife's back and headaches) and the Blue Blood for the high CBD content that will hopefully help inflammation from the MS. All seeds are feminized.

I have not found much grow info on these 2 strains so I will do my best to let you know my results. Any comments or criticism is welcome. I know enough to know what I don't know and will take all the help I can get. Here we go.

Here is the strain Info:

Medicann Blue Blood Feminised Seeds Info

With this plant we have crossed our OG Kush with an astounding Blueberry that has been with us since 1998. This plant produces buds that have the strength and density of the OG but have that wonderful smell and taste of the Blueberry. The Blueberry overtones over wash the OG so for those of you used to OG this plant will smell and taste more blueberry, however there is an element of diesel fuel to the smell and taste. Not one for an inexperienced medical grower, but well worth the effort for those who can. Blueberry x OG Kush has been bred to contain higher percentages of CBD or cannabidiol the part of cannabis now considered to be most responsible for pain-relief, nausea, as an anti-inflammatory, and for many many other symptoms. CBD has been found to provide physical relief, it actually works to counteract the psychoactivity of THC, allowing patients a much desired element of clarity unassociated with so many other types of cannabis. This strain can also be a very effective insomnia killer, especially if you have pain that keeps you awake.

In short for medicinal users this would be the strain we recommend for a multitude of different ailments. Medicann are currently working on other strains to increase the CBD ratio to further help sufferers.

Medicann Trainwreck Feminised Seeds Specs

Medicann Trainwreck Feminised Seeds Info

Emerging from California in the late 90's this is one of the staples of any medical marijuana grower being an extremely strong pain relieving plant. A very pungent smell is emitted from Trainwreck a lemony/diesel smell that once smelled will always be remembered. We have been working with this genetic since 1998 and it has never let us down. This strain has many tales about where it originally came from, from Mexico or Humboldt? The genetics we have came from Northern California in the late 90's.

The seed were purchase from Hearbies. I would highly recommend them. The shipping was fast and discrete. Even with a delay on their side, I had my seeds in 9 days to the east coast and they threw in some freebies. Thanks Herbies!!!

Since I am on a limited budget, I am trying to grow in the most cost effective way possible. This is a soil grow under CFL's.

I germinated 1 seed of each using the paper towel method. They both popped within 36 Hours. I put the seeds in starter cubes and have them in a propagation chamber with 1 t5 light and 2 26w 6500k bulbs.

The flowering closet, which is separate from the vegging closet, has 4 100w dual spectrum CFLs and 2 26w 2700k CFLs under a homemade reflector, a 4" exhaust fan with carbon filter and a small fan to help move the air. . The soil is will be from my compost pile and using Fox Farm nutes.

I will post my first pictures later today when I have time.

Thanks for looking.

I did not have time to take a picture this am but the top 1/2" of the Blue Blood stem has a purple look to it. The rest of the stem is green. I have not added and nutes yet. I am worried about Potassium or magnesium. Should I add a small amount of FF grow big?

That's nothing to worry about at this point. If you see that later on, then we can take action. But now, I wouldn't worry.

I'd also suggest running 18/6 lighting. You'll save on power, and it gives the plants time to rest and produce hormones.

You also have a little bit of stretching going on. Try to move the CFLs a bit closer. For seedlings, my CFLs are 1"-2" / 2.5-5cm away.

Thanks for the advice. I will take care of moving the lights as soon as I get home. The 18/6 will have to wait till tomorrow. I only have 1 timer and it is in the flower closet.

Thanks

I switched them over to 18/6. When I transplanted them to the larger pots, there were a ton of roots coming out of the bottom of the starter cubes and I thought they might suffer if not moved.

Each bulb is no more the 1.5 inches from plant on either side. I used this same splitter setup with 2 AK48 1 Ice and 1 Jock horror auto that are all doing great. I test the moisture with my Digital PH meter that also has a moister setting. I think it may have something to do with the soil. The PH dropped to 5. Not sure why. It was soil from my compost heap. I transplanted into Vigoro organic potting soil from Home Depot. The PH is now a 6.5. I have also germinated 2 new seeds (1 Trainwreck and 1 Blue Blood) just in case these don't make it. I am also trying my hand at cloning one of my ak48s. Wish me luck.

OK. Here is what I have done. I have transplanted my two sick little seedlings into Styrofoam cups with Fox Farms soil. I will give them a chance. I have also germinated 2 new seeds and currently have them in my propagation chamber with my ak48 and ice clones. If the sick ones survive...bonus. If not, I will put this down as a lesson learned and move forward with the 2 new seeds.
