Michigan Growers Unite!

Well, I hope you guys didn't waste your time on the Canna expo at Soaring beagle casino. It sucked. The goodie bag that you got when pre registering, consisted of a program, michigan law pamphlet, a wrist band, and a raffle ticket. Except for the raffle ticket, everything was available on the counters. I got a M3 dirt sample, along with a sample of pa's poop fertilizer. What a waste of 200 miles(round trip).
As far as the michigan regulations, I find it weird that our limits are listed as per person, like 2.5 oz possession have been morphed into "household" limits when it comes to plants and total possession. All those limits were per person when we voted, not per household. Oh well, I'm still having fun growing, so I won't worry about the little things, like limits!;):ganjamon:

Sorry to hear about that. I would have expected a bunch of freebies! And cool gadgets

Yeah, me too! Sorta bummed when I saw what was there. Doors opened at 10 am. I walked it twice, and was pulling out of the parking lot at 10:21. It was that bad. I really expected to see some nutrient companies, stuff like that. It was mainly lawyers, cannabis real estate, and securities services. And some dork selling paintings. I expected to see beanie babies for sale when I turned every corner. I'd have felt better if I had a buzz on.

Yea that's the big one I've been wondering about as well. We voted for per person. Not per household. Are my wife an I allowed 10.5oz or 21oz kind of a big difference and drastically changes there required production schedule. I was considering running into town for it later tonight it's only 30 minutes away, I'll just roll some blunts

I would imagine the amount is per person but seems like the plants it's per household. To be honest, I am just going to stick to the max plant amount and not worry to much about the qty.

Anyone going to the Spring Garden Fest

Grow Green MI - 9197 E. M-36 - Whitmore Lake, MI 48189

MI area: Southeastern corner of the state, south end of Macomb County.
Grow set up: Room in the basement with cabinets so height is an issue. A plant or two outside during the summer.
Grow medium: Soil, trying to keep it as natural and organic as possible.
Favorite strain: Whatever is growing well at the time.
Favorite edible: Not into it.
Favorite team/sport/university:.....
Hobbies: Gardening, fishing. Can't see well enough to go hunting or handgun competition anymore.

Been working since I was 14 with a short break to try college in the late 60s and early 70s. Now working part time-can't accept retiring and not working at all.

Tried growing weed back in the 70s and early 80s but plants would disappear--would get taken by neighborhood thieves or when I planted up-north the deer probably ate them.

Now growing weed as an extension of the garden. Using T-5 High Output fixtures with mostly LED tubes now. A few florescent bulbs left. Soil mix. Small pots, 1 and 2 gallon for the most part. Flowering cabinet is a tad under 4 feet from floor to fixture. Sea of green style using clones.

@SmokingWings welcome to the 420 forums! With Michigan having a 12 plant limit the sea of green is a great option when height space is limited.[/QUOTE]

Thank you for the welcome. 12 plant limit, hhmm, I guess we are all outlaws in the eyes of America.;)

I get carried away when I take cuttings. Thankfully, for the sake of my peace of mind, some of them do not make it. Then I tend to get nit picky with the survivors and do a culling. Helps keep the number down.

Since the weather is changing one of the chores coming up is taking some cuttings from several plants that are going into the dark cabinet, or flowering box, as soon as I pull some finished plants out. Then over the next week or so I will be taking cuttings off of a clone that I had turned into a temporary mother plant several months ago.

Since the mother plant has put up with so much over the past 6 months it will end up somewhere outside to finish off its days just relaxing and enjoying the warm summer sun.

There is a saliva test that is available, but very expensive. The company that patented the test is in Kzoo. Eventually they will go to that. It’s very expensive right now, so it will be a road side sobriety test to begin with, and/or piss test if suspected. I don’t think they want to pursue the piss test, since a chubby guy like me will piss dirty for a long time. We’ll see, I just hope the government is transparent about what discussions are had on our legalization. We the people voted, I hope they don’t blind side us. I have my card, and have had it for a while. I’ve been stopped twice by county and state cops. I’ve had my eyes checked both times. That was the it. It didn’t help my truck smelled like a frickin skunk:rofl: I now keep a smell proof bag in there.

Yeah, my concern is being blind side with stupid rules around a legal plant we all voted for. Let the market determine demand in quality, quantity, thc percentage and all.
The only part that I am ok with is setting requirements for testing of the end product before it hits consumers. I would hope everyone is growing without harmful products but you never know.

Every projection I've seen has said that it will be the end of 2019 b4 we see any progress of retail sales, state regulation, and testing. I've opted not to plant outside this because of the view from a public place/ locked secured exterior growing area provision. I've got enuff of weed to last me thru the next indoor growing season ( since again I won't be around to grow).

Hey there, from somewhere in Lapeer County!
I agree with what was said above about the historical quality and quantity of weed in this area, but my memory goes back to the 70s, where everything was really reeeeeeeeeeeeelly expensive shake or something beyond anyone's price range. Once, only one time did I taste something 'strong', it was called 'The Bomb' and I had one or two grams of it. Sat in a parking lot with my girlfriend in the dead of night and tried it. We both got the sensation of falling out of an airplane....lmao. Never forget it.
But everything up here was hoarded, no one wanted to sell, hardly wanted to share. Everytime any older folks talked about 'pushers' and so forth we laughed, no one pushed anything, they hoarded, period. Even now.
The only possible exception now are the old Vietnam war dudes with 'seeds they smuggled back' and are still growing, and it is pretty damned awful.
Met a big time dude from Mexico in 78 that was distributing once, too. Hung around all day, dangerously so I might add, but by the time I got the hell out of there I still didn't have any. I gave up. Time for a revolution I say, a chicken in every pot and some 'pot' in every household that wants it. (I find the term pot derogatory but it fits the saying, lol).

Greetings fellow Michigander’s. Bill here from the Ann Arbor area. Very new grower. Just switched my indoor grow to flower 12 days ago. Starting my first outdoor grow with these girls Friday in central Michigan. The pic is before I switched. You can see how the seedlings have grown. Stretching really nice. We post new pic soon. So good it’s legal. Good luck and good growing everyone :yummy:
