Well the story begins in January. My wife and I have planters out back and just tossed a seed in the dirt from a bag. I get nosing a round the planters after a nice warm and low and behold there was a sprout. I said to myself "What the hell do I do now?"
With another freeze coming our way I grabbed a classic red plastic cup (no endorsements ) through a scoop of what ever was in the planter and transplanted that lil booger.
Now I already hear yall throw a hissy but hey as the name emplies im a noob! I put a 100w equivalent led light bulb at 6500k in a piece of drier vent about 18" long to confine the light. It took off nicely.
Well a bit goes by and said hummmm why not. I bought an 18 gal container, closed in a 2' room in my closet, bought a 2' t8 2 bulb fixture and through the 6500ks on there. I bought my bottles of nutes and all went to town. I had no idea what i was doing.
I had been studdying hydroponics, aquaponics, and aeroponics for verticle farming. With a tight budget I thought wth. After setting up the dwc with 2 6" ish airstones in the bottom and the light hung above I was cooking. I decide why not germ some more while im at it. I put 9 seeds in a plastic seed starter from the box store. All 9 of them darn bag seeds sprouted. I culled them down to 5 then down to 2. I put them in the dwc. Now the first plant has to be a month old vegging under 34 watts of light. To get everything the same height i topped the old one and let it sprawl.
Last weekish (sorry I have a horrible memory) I had a buddy give me 3 boxes of 100w led bulbs at 2700k. I removed the lenses off the bulbs and wired them up with the 2' and added another box plus 2 6500ks laying around.
I had decided to go ahead and see what we have growing. Roughly 50% of my base was full.
And really getting antsy.
Thankfully I believe the largest is a female and the younger ones have not sexed yet. I will post pics in a bit.
