Missing cotyledon leaf

two new seeds cracked open the other day ..... the only problem was that one of the seed caps took one of the cotyledons leaves with it... should i run with 1 cotyledons leaf or trash it ? thanks 420 peeps

Hi, cbgb!

From what I've read it sounds as if it can go either way with just one cotyledon. If you've got a few more days and don't mind waiting, you can see if it produces its first set of true leaves -- if it gets that far, it sounds as if it'll be fine, although it may take longer than usual. That's the function of the cotyledon, after all -- to power the seedling enough to sprout and produce the first real leaves.
