what if I added a filter with ground up herb into my hearts run ...would it extract a thc vodka or whiskey

More than likely, alcohol should dissolve trichromes. I think I’d wait and after the alcohol is brewed, run the product through a filter with the herb, then into the bottle.
I think I gave you bad advice, after thinking about it, you’ll need to de-carboxylate the thc, which needs heat, so adding it to the run would be a better idea.
The vapor temperature of most cannabinoids & terpenes is much higher than ethanol so my thought is it would be wasted. Mixed into the mash all the flavors will just stay there.
I say decarboxylate the weed and put it in the thumper or run the moonshine through a decarboxylate-stuffed filter housing. Basically using the liquor to flavor itself by dissolving the cannabinoids & terpenes into itself. Like making a tincture but in this case a "drinkture", lol.
