More than 500 bagseeds?

If one had a huge number(+500) of bag seeds , what is a good method of narrowing down the numbers to 24 or so to start a grow ...The goal is to end up with at least 6-8 healthy females for flowering and maybe a mother or two

...Anyway, what is a good way to narrow down the numbers?

OK, this is what has been done so far...The thumb and finger thingy, divided the remainder into:

"dark"(+300seeds), some are almost black to very dark green/brown,

"light"(+100), some are light green/brown to almost bright light green...

Do I trash the light ones and focus on the dark?

Is there a way to know strain(sativa or indica) from just looking at the seed? I would think not, but I am still curious?

Oh yeah, the seeds are not more than 6-12 months old at the most, and have been kept in a cool dark and dry locations.

Thanks.

i would use the darker seeds becuase those are the more mature and will have a better success rate in germination. Narrowing down what 24 to pick out of that many. shit, i would just make it 30 and go with your best instinct. LOL.

good luck peace

theres no way of knowing the strain just by looking at the seeds...you will notice specific characteristics of an indica/sativa plant when you actually start the grow..plus you should know if its indica or sativa when you smoke it....i would personally use the darker seeds but shit...i would use all of them anyway

The small really dark brown/black are 9 times out of 10 indica I think.
No real way to tell, but the solid colored ones lean toward Sativa, and the Tigerstriped ones lean toward Indica.
