Morglie's 1st Journal With Ace Sativas In High Brix

Well Fuzzy, they only go out for a few hours on my days off to suck up some sunlight. I would say nothing for bugs except that I just discovered after going through my pics last night that I have spider mites. I picked up an organic mite spray at the big box store. I've spent the day removing all my plants from both rooms and treating them. Then I tore apart the rooms and cleaned and treated them as well. I wasn't seeing any sign in the veg room but they have intermingled so better safe than sorry. On a positive note, I set up my veg area to be a more effective use of space plus I'm using 5 less soda crates to do it. I also added in another 6500k cfl, so now there are two 6500 and one 2700 cfl in there.

At least I know what my problem has been. I've been thinking I've been doing something with the kit incorrectly. Treatment again in the morning. They are all looking happy beyond my Ppp that still has phenomenal buds going even if the leaves are all miscolored and dying. I think she can make it another two weeks till harvest. She sure is frosting up.

While I was tearing apart both rooms and treating them, there was some up potting going on. Malawi A has come out and shown her colors while still in veg, so she got slapped in a five gallon. She'll be moving to the flower room next weekend when my bag seed plant comes down. I tried a flower I cut from her earlier in the week and it was nice. Not terribly potent but a nice mellow head buzz. All my tension melted away and I felt good.

There's some foxtailing going on. I really have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised with this plant. It was just a practice grow on some reg bag seed.

The Zamedelica have exploded in flower today. These two have me excited. There are slight variations between the two but they are both very vigorous. I have a feeling they will be sitting almost on the floor by the time they are done.

I up potted the Panama clones I left in the flower room. They got put in 1gal to grow into lovely budsicles. That's all for tonight. Have a green one.

Both Panama showed sex today. The red pheno is a female and the green is a male! I was beginning to get worried that I wouldn't get a male out of the ace's. I really want to create some f1 pure sativa seeds. All three of these strains are impressing me with their vigor.

I made cuts of the Malawi tonight and gave them the toast treatment. I'm testing out a cut of each in rockwool. I have a pack of them left over from my failed hydro attempt and I thought I'd see if they work as well as the rooter plugs.
420-magazine-mobile28581037.jpg

The lady bugs are all over outside right now, so I invited some to hang out in my garden and catch any new mites that may be hatching. I'm trying to stay with a multi pronged approach. I'm going to beat them.

That's all the updates for now.

Peace

When I was checking in on the girls I decided a couple of low branches needed to be trimmed off my Panama red now that I know I'm going to flower her out. The cuts were just to perfect either. Two more clones added to the Malawi.
420-magazine-mobile1484789890.jpg

I'm not sure how well they'll take, the stems have already hardened. They are great sized cuts though which I never seem to get.

Well, anyways, laters....

I was checking over my bag seed plant today in prep for this weekend when I was planning to harvest her. I found pm starting on the inside of the top cola. Everything below the main bud is fine but most of the weight is in the top. I dissected the top bud to see how bad it was and to see if any was salvagable. Look what I found on the inside.
420-magazine-mobile1451004751.jpg

There were about a dozen more under developed ones as well. All on the inside. I found 3 seeds in my other bagseed plant that turned out as bunk. I found 1 in my Ppp that I was grinding up the other day. Luckily, before I pulverized it. I held on to it but was thinking it was from the plant that was no good. Where I found these and the amount that were there make me think it was this plant that threw the nanner. I tested a bud about a week or so ago and it was pretty good. Now I get to see how good it grows in high brix. :slide:

I checked the trics on the ppp and she's starting to amber up quickly. I trimmed off her fan leaves and am leaving her in the dark until I get home from work tomorrow then she's getting cut.

I pulled the ace girls out to get to those plants so they got their pictures taken. They sure look happy.

Woohoo! Free seeds and baby flowers! :high-five:

Sorry to hear about the powder mold though. That's a major bummer.

I'm very happy about the seeds. This plant really surprised me. It grew like a landrace sativa which I wasn't expecting at all. A buddy gave me some seeds from mid grade street product he had. I was expecting some weak, heavy leaning, indica. That means the ppp was crossed with her. That pushes the very heavy sativa leaning hybrid farther that way. More sativa! Oh, and fem seeds. Hmm, hadn't though about that. I might have to rethink what I'm planning on doing with those. I do have one original seed left as well.

Speaking of father's, my male Panama is impressing me. Both Panama mothers(?) had drinks 7 days ago and the male was dry whereas the female still has days till she'll want a drink. The bud sites are building nicely. A trait that should get passed on to his progeny. Also, he's a green pheno which is the more energizing, clear headed, buzz of the two. Ideal for creating high functioning strains. Since I've started smoking in the daytime on the daily, it's amazing how productive I've become.

Well I'm off to make myself be lazy and relax.

Peace

I had the girls out today for their Sunday brix and I also sprayed them with cayenne, mint, and thyme essential oil to combat any resurgence by the borg. The zams are getting close to cat time. I'm thinking their next feeding, in a week or so, should be time to hit them with their first cat.

Here's the Malawi that showed her parts while still in veg. She's in with the other ace mothers in the flower room now.

Had some friends over last night. Including my friend I got the seed from of the plant just harvested. So we had to try it. I think we smoked an eighth last night. There's no ceiling on it. The wife got herself lie down high. It's some good stuff. :slide:

The zams were out yesterday to get their first cat drench. They also got knocked up with my Panama. Just the tip, not the whole thing... I'm loving the way they are growing. Definitely some happy plants. I'm loving the skinny leaves.

The small clone of pan A got dusted as well. My Malawi did also, but I think she's to early to take. A bit of pollen got lose in the room before I caught him but he was away from the fan and very early, plus most balls are immature. I doubt mind some stray seeds. I just don't want them covered in them which I feel fairly certain didn't happen.

Brix day for the girls. The zams seem to be loving their first cat drench they got, especially A. She is starting to plump up. Stray pollen got spread more than I thought but it doesn't look like they will be to seedy. I got two clones to root from plant B so I up potted one of them yesterday. Another week in veg to set her feet and I'll move her to flower. I'll have some sensi zam not to far behind the first plants.

My Panama is looking quite happy today. She got her first cat drench and I trimmed up under her skirt a bit. I can see a few pistols where she got pollinated but it's not very much. The small clone I have of her in flower got hit with pollen so I'll have plenty of F2 Panama seeds in a couple of months.

My Malawi is coming along in the flower room. She's still not throwing pistols but it's only been 8 days under 11/13 light.

I'm having trouble cloning this time. The rockwool cubes are tough to keep at a reasonable saturation. They are either bone dry or soaking wet. I put hydroton on the bottom of the cup of the only one still alive in hopes that it might sustain it long enough to root it. The riot rooters work nicely. Although I did get very tiny cuttings. My first one I planted might not make it. This one definitely has nice roots going. There were 4 sticking out like what you see in the picture. It looks like they have fur growing on them they are branching so much.
420-magazine-mobile1026686847.jpg

And I'll leave you with a parting panorama of my flower room. The main area looks small comparatively, but it gets across the crampedness of the area. I think I can squeeze two more plants in there before I harvest something. Maybe....

I have one cutting in rockwool still hanging on. No signs of roots yet. I added a layer of hydroton for it to sit on and that helped a lot. I'm thinking I remember toast using pebbles in the bottom of his.

The Zamedelica are looking great. Especially A. I'm thinking I should get a decent harvest off of them with how small they were when I flipped them. I trimmed up the legs the other night and saved the popcorn nibblets. I sampled it last night just to see, even though it's only 2 weeks into 3 months of flowering. I got a nice little short buzz off it. I was surprised. It may just live up to the hype I've heard.

The Panama has really caught my eye every time I look in on the girls.I need to pick up a refractometer because I think I'm actually starting to hit the brix. :slide: the male was actually growing more vigorously than this one. My Panama f2s should be pretty solid.

The girls got sprayed earlier with a foliar made from steeped cayenne and thyme essential oil. Part of my ongoing treatment for the borg. The lady bugs seemed to finish them off. The plants are all looking great. Photo bomb incoming, but first, I took two clones off my Malawi A that's in flower since I was hasty in putting her in there. I don't think the clone I took when I moved her is going to make it. I want to keep all the genetics from my girls in flower until I know if they're keepers.

The parents are visiting tomorrow so I had the ladies out tonight for their weekly brix. A few of them got painted with some Panama pollen.

Pure power plant
Hmm, don't have a pic of her tiny homely self. She's a revegged clone that I threw into flower at maybe 8 inches tall for seed purposes.

The original trio are looking great.

Zamedelica A is showing a great growth structure. The B pheno has a wilder look to her and is going to take longer to finish. Both plants were trained the same. A stood back up and B just kept reaching for the walls.
