House leaders intent on cracking down on medical marijuana in some fashion are agreeing to accept a tardy Senate plan to regulate medical marijuana.
House Republican leaders controlling a 68-32 majority in the chamber rallied their caucus to accept the regulation proposal from the Senate. The measure - which drastically reduces the prevalence of medical marijuana and makes it harder to get - faces more work in the House.
And House leaders more interested in repealing medical marijuana altogether say they will likely put their attention first on that plan. The Senate is also scheduled to send back over to the House a measure that abolishes medical marijuana altogether.
Lawmakers came into the session intent on doing something with a medical marijuana industry that has boomed to 28,000 cardholders.
