Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

re: Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

I'll sit down and draw some drawings and take some pics and try to help you figure out how i built it. Pretty simple. I used 2x4's to frame the top and bottom. 1/2 plywood for the sides and door. And 2x2's everywhere else. Ya also need some 1 1/2 " and 2 1/2 " drywall screws. The long ones are for connecting the 2x4's and the short ones are for attaching the plywood.

huh... maybe they changed the policy. I've had them make cuts sometimes. If I already know the measurements for a couple of the first cuts, it's easier to transport the pieces than a whole sheet of drywall. Plus, their cut will usually be pretty straight. Mine are less straight in general. ;) I recall I got 1 or 2 free cuts for each piece of lumber. If they will make all your cuts for you for free, then maybe you don't need a saw, but who doesn't love power tools! :laughtwo:

re: Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

Yeah .... but things never meet up just perfect. There's always a need to trim up or whatever.

re: Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

thats right unless you cut it twice and its still to short:)

re: Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

I have dry wall screws from building my cab. Only power toll I own is a drill & a huge drill but selection :)

It would be great to get those exact measurements from you. I would buy tents but its to obvious what will be in it. I need to build 2 of them. I even thought about making grow rooms that look like huge speakers. I was going to add the speakers on the front and paint it black :)

I sooooo wanna see pics of the grow room hidden behind ginormous speakers! :)

Been busy last couple of days. Haven't had much time to get on here.

Day 27 Flower ......

Watered and fed the girls today. They look really good. Lots and lots of cotton balls.

And, here's our test subject. It's still hard to tell at this point. But, I think the flowers on this one are a little bigger than the flowers on the others. Really hard to tell at this point.

I really want to defoliate the rest of them. But, at this point, I don't want to do it unless it shows an increase in bud and bud size. I do think it will help with having the 6 plants in my box. Not much light penetration at all with all those leaves packed in there.

Now on to the veg box. They are doing really really well. As a matter of fact, they were really close to overgrowing the area.

I decided to supercrop everything. I just reached in and started bending over branches like a mad man. Every other time, I would end up supercrapping several branches. (breaking them off). But, this time, I wasn't careful at all and didn't take my time or be careful. I ended up supercropping every branch and not one snapped or broke off. It was text book perfect. This should give me at lease another week with very slow growth.

I'm sure everything will be standing back up straight by this time tomorrow ... LOL.

I decided to make up some drawings and take pics and do a build along kind of thing for Wiz. I will be posting it in the FAQ area. Here's a link to the box build .............

Nice update. Looks like the defo is working out. I can tell the buds got more bulk to them. The veg room is wow!!!!! Nice and full. You can flower those in that same box. :)

Thanks for the draw up also. I have a cheap DIY bubble cloner I just made if you want to check it out in my First journal. Cheapest and best one I made so far. Cant go wrong with it.

Welcome guys .....thanks for the reps

re: Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

Mutt, are the buds bigger or do they look bigger because the plant around them is smaller?

I'm teasing you. I'm confident your experiment will be a success. It's probably too early to really see the difference yet though. If I have learned only one thing from growing it is patience. :)

re: Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

There is deffinitely a very obvious increase in trichome production (on the tester plant) ..... and at a much earlier state then I normally see them. I had lots of trichs at 22 days. That's way earlier than usual.

As for the size of the buds. Well, you are right, the lack of leaves could make them look bigger. But, since there really aren't any actual buds yet, the only thing that is bigger is the hairs. The white hairs on the buds actually look to be about 1/3 longer than the ones on the other plants (and there's more of it). Not sure what that means. But, i'll take it ..... LOL. It's all in the last two weeks. Which ever one has the biggest buds in the last two weeks of flower ..... .wins (and so do I ..... LOL).

re: Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

That's the best part. You win no matter what! :yummy:

re: Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

On defoliation....

I pluck those light hogging Fans throughout the whole flowering period of my indoor plants, to get the light to the buds, where it counts, and achieve results like this:

So don't be afraid to snip off some leaves, as long as you keep to a feeding regimen, they won't have to pull the nutes from the fans. And as far as needing them to absorb light and photosenthysize, there are plenty more leaves there to do the job.

Peace and God bless,
GT

re: Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

Those plants look fantastic. I've been tempted to do half of them that way. Pluck three and let the other three grow out. I really really like the trichome production. That is what's really tempting me to do a couple more that way.

re: Mutt's 2nd Organic Grow - Soil - TGA Genetics

I was strictly an outdoor grower until about 10 yrs ago, and inside I went...

These manmade lights are nothing to God's burning sun.
For best penetration of the light from these wimpy man made's, we must hack away!
