My First Indoor Grow - Unknown Strain

Can't let this go in without suggesting sea tea or seaweed extract for maximum health. Check out the info Smokin Moose has posted on the subject. The grow is going great! Welcome to 420 mag, from another old timer. :)
 
Well...right, wrong or indifferent, I put plant 2 into bondage today.
I figure, what the hell..I'm getting good LST training and whats the
worst that could happen if I can keep the plants happy ? Worst case
scenario..I get 2 males. They are are 20 days veg now.
I did , however, do something that pained me a bit. I cut 3 large leaves
off plant one today because the undershoots just were not getting the light.
Did I screw up ?
Kinda too late for that question, but let me know what ya think.

I'll put up pics tomorrow after plant 2 adjusts to the bend and light.

no you didnt screw up next time you might want to take it a little slower but they should be fine

Thanx for the kind words. I'm praying that at least one is a female.
I do have a couple of other seedlings waiting in the background.
I have one more of the same unknown strain that I have shown
here and I have a Fem. Snow White seeding growing also.
As SOON as these two plants that are pictured on this thread
show sex I will be able to progress further. If they are male, they'll
get the axe. If (hopefully) they are females I will be taking
clones and then starting 12/12. I already have my clone station
set up and am eagerly awaiting *some* sign of sex. It has amazed
me how bushy Plant 1 has gotten and the number of Tips that are
now seeking their way to the light. There is new growth everyday
on every trained branch and both plants are looking (at least to me)
very strong. I know I've seemed a little distraught at times when
asking about these plants, but all in all it really was just an experiment
to see about LST and to get ready for the Fem. Snow White grow.
If this all goes well I will most certainly be doing LST on the Snow White.
So now I just have to wait and pray for a female and hope for good
clones if I do indeed get a female. Being a born again heathen, I suppose
I should sacrifice a small animal or two to the Ganja Gods but instead
I think I'll just opt to blowing some nice smoke towards the heavens as an offering.

watch for those yellow spots on the new growth to make sure the pH problem isnt progressing. Plant 2 is looking better and has plenty of new growth.
Its cool that you gave us the answers to the Wheres Waldo of finding new colas on a plant. I probably would have found 6, at the most. Looking great and best of luck on a female!
 
Hello all...

Plants are looking good (at least to me)
I got a thermometer, humidity meter and a ph meter.
Temps are staying around 80, ph is at 6.6 -6.8
and humidity is around 40% There is no sign of sex
that I can see yet.

No sir... still on 24 hours full light. They seem to be loving it.
And what a nice smell they are starting to have. I'm just
impatient I suppose. I wanna see a girl !!!

if your on a 24hour veg cycle, your pretty much not gonna see any "sexing" unless you switch the light regiment to 12on/12off (unless its an auto-flower strain EX: lowrider) tho i've seen strains "sex" under 18on/6off light cycle.,

Actually you can start to look for pre-flowers if you wana keep veggin, they usually come out from the 7th, 8th node after couple weeks of veg.

Everybody has their own way. I like to sex via preflowers, trash any males (unless I am making seeds, which I rarely do), then take cuttings from my female(s). Once the clones are rooted, I veg them a week or so then go 12/12.

If you are not interested in flowering clones, then you can go 12/12 whenever you are happy with veged size. You could still take a cutting or 3 from each plant, then you can use the clone as a mother plant for a subsequent grow.
 
Hello all.
I started the 2 plants on 12/12 yesterday. They are around 4 weeks veg
and it may be a bit early, but I have a Fem. Snow White growing atm
and I'm figuring that by the time she is ready, these plants will have flowered
and such and I can take the Fem. Snow White out of the Phototron and put
her under the HPS for flowering. *Hopefully* one of them is a girl. I guess we'll
know for sure soon now. :) Temps are still staying around 80, ph is at 6.6 - 6.8
and humidity is still around 40% One thing I saw since putting them under 12/12
that perplexed me. After just one night of darkness, the cola tips were a lighter
shade of green when I checked the plants this morning. Now after 4 hours or so
of light, they are darkening up. Strange to me, But it IS my first grow.
