Mystic Blue First Grow!

I did think about giving the old adage, "If you aren't burning the tips, you aren't trying hard enough."

I don't always mean to, but sometimes I give it 110% effort. I suffer from G.G.S. - Greedy Growers Syndrome. We could probably start a support group for that. There's lots of potential members. My name is Farside05 W., and I'm a greedy grower.

I do it without even trying to, and without applying extra nutes. My plants react this way when the roots hit a layer of compost or other nutrient spikes that I put in my soil... and then I watch them deal with it, work around it, and get stronger. Not every little leaf reaction is a crisis.. some are simply guideposts to show you what is happening down below.

So as you can see well and truly in the flowering there everywhere which is awesome to see for such a small plant. But unfortunately I can't see these buds getting massive but at least I'm gunna have something off of my first grow. Still have a couple weeks left I reckon looking at the flowers under a 40× mag.

Here's a question for you. It maybe me thinking way too outside the box but.... I have a tropical fish tank and have to change the dirty water out. This is full off micro organisms and fish waste my koi dirty water works magic around the garden. Would this also work as a fertiliser??

You have a lot more time left than a couple of weeks... I would guess around 5 weeks left to go, minimum. By then your buds will have bulked up quite a bit.
The fish water will be very nutritious and good for your plants, so definitely use it.

That's interesting, my step-daughter has a fish tank, perhaps I'll post her a PH meter and see what she says.

Tested mine and the ph still needs to be adjusted but I'm gunna go ahead and use it!. 5 weeks wow!!! That's a long old life span for an auto I'm on week 6 now so that will be week 11 harvest. Might get some better buds than I thought! Awesome that's made my day!

GOOD NEWS GUYS! got a mars hydro 400w on the way should help things along :cheer:

I fed with the fish water and demerara yesterday already seeing a difference!

Ok so went away on holiday for a week had to leave my water to a friend which was fine they did great and the buds have really started coming along now and there everywhere all over the plant. But I have noticed a problem!
The leaves are becoming lighter from the middle of each finger. Bottom Leaves are very light some almost white and some are going brown what's happening peeps and what can I do as it has only just been watered yesterday?

Buds are getting bigger and very sparkly and the top leaves aren't showing anything near as bad as the bottom it's almost traveling up the plant

stop removing these leaves as they are your canaries in the gold mine, and the problem will simply move up to another leaf further up the stalk when you remove these. The plant is trying hard to grab the magnesium it has stored up in those leaves and move it to the new growth where it is needed. If you remove the leaf it has tagged for cannibalization, it will simply find another. You appear to have a magnesium deficiency.
Add some calmag to your watering and this problem will stop progressing and if not damaged too much, the leaves will get green again. The burned areas will never come back, but you can stop this progression. Act fast.. it will just continue to get worse until you do.
Alternatives... foliar spray of epsom salt solution works well as a temporary band aid. 1 tbls of epsom salt on the surface of your soil ONE TIME can be enough magnesium to get you through the entire grow, but using calmag, either the commercial product or home made from eggshells is a much better solution to this problem, and not harmful to the soil as the salt can be.

Oops I read that if you see dying or damaged leaves during flower remove as the plant will try and keep the leaf and take it away from the bud production. I've been giving calmag with every water and stopped foliar spray since budding.

I've only just watered her yesterday with the regular feed. If I add some more to give it calmag now I'm worried it will be over watered?

I gave her 500ml with 1ml cal-mag (double the recommended) and 1.3ml of bio heaven so we will see how she takes that up! Its a shame I can't foliar if things get bad I will foliar very carefully not to get the buds with any of it!

I'm all good :) I'm use to the stress now haha! It all makes it so worth while! Can't wait to smoke this baby! And with you Emilya looking after me I've got everything covered ;). Should have my eye glass soon get some detailed pics of the buds to see what you think :)

@Emilya fancy jumping on my recent thread on frequently asked questions? Looking to the future :)

It amazes me that people who write such things continue to get people to believe them and read what else they have to say. The only job that these plants have is to continue the species, and to that end, develop the buds. Nothing gets in the way of that prime directive, and anything that those buds need is sent there first. If and only if there is anything left over that can be stored (and not everything can be) then it is moved during the night activities to storage centers in the large fan leaves. The fan leaves being there, damaged or not, do not affect the buds negatively in any way, but if a mobile deficiency is felt by that upper growth, those fan leaves are quickly tapped for their resources.
Secondly, in a plant like ours with a prime directive as it has, nothing will get in its way. If it feels undue stress and starts to believe that its prime directive may be somehow in danger, it can hermi and try to pollinate itself. We try very hard when in flower to not stress our plants in any major way so that this does not happen, and trimming is never recommended during bloom except in the willfully destructive practices such as defoliation and lollipopping, and more easily forgiven, the practice of cleaning up under the canopy early in flower for airflow and maximum energy to the top.
Third, already discussed... while trying not to move the problem up the trunk to the next leaf in line, keeping the damaged leaves on the plant helps you see when you have fixed the problem.

Yep you nailed it! Very well explained! And I don't want no hermi! Thanks again Emilya!
