Testing the soil pH is not going to tell you a thing, other than where the soil is buffered to return to when it is dry.

The pH at the bottom of your container is not the same as the pH at the top of the container where the soil is starting to dry out.
Don't overthink it. Water at the correct pH every time and at least at that moment you know the pH of the entire container is 6.3, where you set it. And accuracy counts... there is a huge difference in adjusting to 6.2 and 6.5. 6.3 is the sweet spot. Hit it every time and keep practicing until you can. I remember many days of up and down as I struggled with the mix.
When you water at 6.3, the soil takes over from there. Most of our "pot soils" are buffered so that they are trying to achieve a 6.7 pH, so as the soil dries and loses the influence of your liquid adjustment, the pH in that region begins to rise, swinging slowly through the range, and as it does, it is unlocking nutrients bound up in your nutrient solution so that they can become available to the plant. If you never hit the correct pH range, the nutrients just sit there, doing nothing but wasting your money.

Unknown bagseed #2
Pictures from today 12/5
feeding readings 11/29
plant pH prior to feeding- 5.74
still seeing some nitrogen deficiency, still some contorted growth. the stem on this plant (which you can probably see in the first picture) is the biggest stem out of all the plants except my super silver haze which has 2/3 months of extra time on them. one of the main stems was accidentally over super cropped but has seemed to really recover.
plant was given H2O pH'd to 6.33; .14 ppm. there were no nutes in the water but it has occasionally been misted with the foliar spray that was made for the other plants. the pH of the runoff was 6.66; 217 ppm
bringing the over final pH of the plant to 6.5

Still a little worried that even though this plant has made a gigantic recovery that at any moment the slightest problem could be its demise. has anyone ever had familiar situation with a plant before?

The center growth looks to be a little better. Just keep going and it looks like it may recover. All the old growth will still be bad.. but the new growth should be better.

The spots on the last page pic is from the foliar feed.
Make sure you use plenty of fans when foliar feeding and it needs to be lights out to avoid burns...

Peace

So, I've got a few questions about these plants again. I'm gunna post some pics, the info i have for them etc. so any help is always appreciated.

im going to start with the super silver haze clone ive got. its been vegging for quite some time now, but i had a lot of devastating issues in the beginning. i want to keep it vegging as long as possible, maybe flower it when the rest are ready.

20181213_162401.jpg 20181213_162434.jpg 20181213_162438.jpg 20181213_162448.jpg
Its really nothing huge, however If im missing something now its going to present a problem later in flower.
the runoff ec/tds is 372 ppm, the runoff pH however was 7.72. I am letting the water kinda dry a bit, i fed it at 3am on 12/12 and ill give it a lower pH'd water some point tonight.

the next plant i have is one of the unknown bagseeds from a friend of a friend.
20181213_162458.jpg 20181213_162512.jpg 20181213_162614.jpg
if you check out the first picture, you can see the plant had distorted new growth at one time, i had to do some serious defoliation of deficiency leaves, but it kinda looks back on track now, doesnt it?
runoff pH 6.9
runoff ec/tds 195ppm.
im thinking maybe since the shoots are so long im going to LST. Im also a little concerned that the explosive growth might mean its gone male. ill update some pictures around the form sex signs in a few days when they get a little more defined.

from my tap? my tap is 7.5 but i pH the water most the time. I have had ranging issues with this and at one time re-potted to the best of my ability.

critical auto
okay so this ones had some pretty steady stable growth. ive gotta say, when i first pictured growing marijuana, this and the purple flower's growth was what i basically expected out of all the plants overall. i never expected to encounter as many difficulties as i did.
the only problem i see with this plant is there is some discoloration and spotting on some leaves which make me a little apprehensive going forward. ive really effected the outcome of alot of these plants already by the issues ive had in veg, so this being one of the more unaffected plants i want to ensure its survival.
runoff pH 6.3
runoff ec/tds 204ppm

more slightly burned leaf tips and edges... back off on the nutes just a bit and she will be fine.

ok this one and another really boggle me. this is the reason for the post. so i have two plants. i think theyre both autos. i accidently messed up and lost a marker. so the other one could be one thing or another but im leaning more towards its an auto since the situation. now this one is the Amnesia Auto. the top growth is much greener then its been. in the first picture you can see the top of the plant. the white hairs, some almost amber but not like a "the buds done" more like its burnt or something. but the second picture shows if anything its been the opposite since its yellower down below indication chlorosis, like from nitrogen def. the 3rd pic shows the yellow and the burn on the tip of the leaf. the last picture is maybe the best for showing the flowering signs.

please please someone address what this could be and what i should do. i havent gotten this far along in any of the other plants and im very worried because this plant is so so small.

and the runoff ec/tds is 183ppm

Are you giving this one flowering nutes? She appears to be very hungry.

this is another loxy fox screw up because another plant whose tag was lost. im having a lot of issues in the seedling stage however so i pretty much lost all these plants but 1 so i threw the tags thinking i was throwing this one out too. could be any seed at this point. and while it survived while the rest perished its got a serious deficiency, most likely cal/mag, i did give it a cal/mag foliar spray and i did give it dialed back nutes. the pH runoff was 6.3 and the ec/tds was 159 ppm

no im not. wasnt giving any nutes because its in fox farms ocean forest soil, i right now mainly give just corrected tap water thats been through a filter. naturally my ec/tds is anywhere from .09 to .14 ppm and naturally 7.5. since its appearing to flower what do you suggest?

I suggest getting her flowering nutes... nitrogen is no longer her primary need and the soil is not supplying the potassium and phosphorus that she now needs. I also suspect that you are not adjusting pH correctly.

this one alike the Amnesia Auto is the one thats probably the most baffling to me. this is either a gg#4 auto from expert seeds (my guess since the situation) OR Black Sugar from seedsman, a photo-period.

20181213_163727.jpg 20181213_163734.jpg 20181213_163742.jpg 20181213_163750.jpg 20181213_163829.jpg20181213_164031.jpg 20181213_164045.jpg

so like the other you can see it had a nitro def, looks much greener today ill see if i can update this ones photos. but i took this two nights ago. very sticky on the top, very very smelly. but small. not ready to be in flower at all. and i dont wanna mess it up at all. it did have quiet a bit of chlorosis, necrosis. but ive plucked the two bottom leaves (more like they jumped off) and i gave it a foliar spray yesterday which worked a little too much.
the runoff pH is 6.65 and the runoff ec/tds is 83 ppm.

i doubt its the underwatering although earlier on in my grow ph and watering were an issue, ive got a good pen at this point. and its only watered sometimes even after 8 or 9 days but normally around 5-6 days and theres alot of aeration

last plant is the unknown bagseed from a friend of a friend #1
doing the worst although despite that its had its own new growth appearing to be much better eventually
runoff pH was 7.12 and runoff ec/tds was 173 ppm.
ill be fixing this one and the super silver haze with corrected water today.
