Need a little help please

Hey guys

My first time trying to grow and I'm looking for a little help.

So I got a Clone of Platinum green crack and just kind of ran with it when it came to set up and growing.
My first time growing I went cheep really cheep. So here my set up.

A Carboard moving box lined with reflective silver lining. A fan blowing fresh air in the box and a LED full spectrum light from Canadian tire just one of them single bulb grow lights. Flower is planted in MG organic soil and I'm doing 18/6 for light.

Plant was growing fine for the first week it grew 3 inches from when I had gotten it and it looked great. Then the leaves started to turn brown. Talked to a few people they said check the Ph of the water I was using and the run off. The tap water I was using was sitting at about 7 and the run off was over 8. Added some white vinegar to the water and lowered the PH down, Run off is not sitting at about 6-6.5. I also Toped it and flushed it with the new water.

I'm not adding any Nuts to the water it's just tap water right now I do have MQ nuts to add later on but I want to fix this problem first.
Gonna add a couple of pictures and see if you guys can give me any advice and point me in the right direction to get my lady back on track.

Does your soil say it has any nutrients in it? and whats the temp in your box?

box with the light on is about 22 or so I have a heater blowing in the box as well if it drops below 21.

Personally, to me it looks like the issue with ph affected it some, over watering affected it some and possibilty of needing Nitrogen caused some of this.

First off the chlorine in the tap water with kill anything organic in your soil.
Don’t measure runoff, buy a ph pen an measure what you put in.

Use both of these charts to guide you through Rh and pH. I’m sure MG has a pH buffer built in the soil, so I’d recommend inputting at 6.2-6.5.

Read up on watering techniques in my signature if you have any doubts there. It being this soon, and using that soil leads me to believe it’s not a nute issue. pH is off imo. Locking out what you need with your tap water.

Ok so if its the PH in my tap water that's causing the problem should I try switching to Bottled water and see if that works and corrects it?

To bring pH up “organically” use lemon juice, down use baking soda.

Do you let your tap sit for 24hrs? You have to get the chlorine out of it.
You can check your city water stats on the web. If there’s chloromine in there, you have to get that out too. I spend a lot of money on spring water, so unless you have endless funds to spend on water, or a natural spring somewhere, figure out what’s in the tap. Ph is easy to fix.

I do let it sit for 24 hours before using I got the city report and there is Chloromine in there as well it's at 0.07 MG/L

Not an expert and you've got some great advice from more experienced posters here. I just remember when I first started I often had various issues like this and I'm sure there were a lot of factors i didn't and still don't understand. Based on advice from the group but not knowing much I focused on two things that got me through.

1. Not over watering (let it get pretty dry)
2. Getting a PH testing kit and splurging on PH up or down, to keep the water in the right range

It seemed like I had to get those right (with lights of course) before I could think of anything else and the plants got there in the end.

For watering i'm doing by how heavy the pot is i'm also going to look on here for some watering info. I am watering about a cup every 2 days or so.

You sure about that? Lemon is an acid and baking soda is alkaline.
potassium bicarbonate works better and doesn't contain salt. Apple cider vinegar works well for a pH down product.

For watering i'm doing by how heavy the pot is i'm also going to look on here for some watering info. I am watering about a cup every 2 days or so.

What kinda heater you got blowing on...the pot?? I assume?

I had seen on another page White Vinegar worked as well for Lowering PH so I used that and it did drop it. The mix I used was 10 cups of water 3ml of White Vinegar that lowered it from 7.8 to about 6.4 ish i was using Test strips not a number reader.
