Alright guys can anybody shed some light on as to what is what in the venting business?

What is the difference between a Duct Fan and an Inline Fan?

How does a squirrel cage fan work? (what end does it suck from?)

Centrifugal fans anyone?

Also,

Is it better to push air through a carbon filter or to pull it?

And,

What is the difference between a Carbon Filter and a Carbon Scrubber?

Is the rule of thumb: Get 20% more CFM on the fan than what the filter / scrubber is rated correct?

How much air pressure is lost through a filter?

Thanks in advance y'all! :)

Duct (booster) fan is meant to help move HVAC air thru ducts. Low airflow. Inline fan is much higher airflow and pressure.

The spinning cage creates a low pressure are in the center of the cage, air flows in and cage blades push the air out.

Inline and squirrel-cage are centrifugal fans...

Airflow of a scrubber is from outside to inside, push or pull

Same thing...

How much air pressure is lost through a filter?

Varies with restriction...
