Need information on the Skywalker strain

So the real Skywalker has made it to Colorado?

Another 420 years and it might make it to Redneckville (home of ~TS~).

What about the other Skywalker?

So, please tell me about this other Skywalker. We just bought some and... well, I don't want to talk negatively about any of the strains that we have offered for donation but I don't even feel right with listing this stuff as Skywalker. Skywalker, as I've come to know it is a bomb ass strain that patients have requested a lot but I know they aren't wanting this stuff. This is going to be like a staple strain, quantity over quality type of thing for those who aren't true, old school smokers but more for those who are on a budget but also, it should go without saying, those who have the more minor ailments that thc can help to reduce. Supposedly grown indoor using soil and it could probably cure a little longer but I'm wondering if this is even comparable to the Agent Orange that we list for $40 per 1/8. If a dispensary, I wouldn't list it for any more than $35 but we do 24hr free delivery so I'm thinking of listing the same as we listed the Agent Orange and the Afgoo we had just before. $40/$60/$100/$200
Also, I'm having to jump around to several websites in order to research different strains. Yall know which site has info for the most strains? I'd appreciate it, thank you.
Oh, so what else could I call it, like a subname to distinguish it from the bombay stuff? Usually, the strain itself or how it's grown offers me a way of explaining it but I can't say this is B quality bc the strain, itself isn't, nor can I say it's outdoor because it's not.

Unfortunately, I only have this built in pc cam so the pictures aren't very good but maybe it can give you an idea of what I have. the first pics are what I was told is Skywalker and the other pics are what I was told is Black Rhino. I am about to test them out so I may have additional feedback about them.
Btw, I didn't buy it and we never met this guy before tonight. He knew I would be unhappy with the purchase because although we do a lower grade variety for the less experienced and those on a budget, for the same price we could have gotten half as much Bubba Kush or Bubba OG, grown by a patient of ours. His prices are high but we need to meet the demands of those who desire that quality, which in my opinion is exactly what I think of when I hear OG or Kush, one hit wonder stuff that's so dense and sticky, so full of trichs that it's like pulling apart some kind of crazy candy that was doused in caramelized sugar.

dang, I was hoping to just insert the pics. .. I have to either upload them here at the profile I created or somewhere else so you can expect to see them at my profile here. Thank you

I just tested it, needs to be cured more. . def sativa based on the long, thin branches... didn't smoke so well at first... it's beyond that peanut butter flavor of freshly cut but it could benefit from some additional time in the dark ...

so I guess 6-9 people other than you saw my pics via my profile here

these last two are the black rhino for comparison

the black rhino got me high and I didn't need to smoke a lot... still gotta try the Blue Dream and Blueberry that do NOT look like those strains when we had them previously but I'm not gonna say anything because the black rhino already surprised me... Ima put that skywalker away in the dark

The Skywalker that I've been lucky enough to medicate with is an outstanding strain. A lot of clubs here in Northern Cali sell what they call Skywalker, but I wont touch the stuff. The best advice I can give on seeing if it is true Skywalker OG is the smell test. Skywalker OG smells like the dankest OG Kush in the world. There are so many OG phenos out now, but Skywalker is by far my favorite. Just wish I could find some!

Yeah, Okay.. I didn't think so. I've heard so many good things about Skywalker; when I looked at this I tried to smile and keep my good mood but it was impossible. I chewed him out and told him I wanted the guy's number. It's cool though, no worries. I posted it at $15/$40/$60/$110 but it includes free, 24hr delivery so I think it's fair.
thank you for your help, I appreciate it.
high and bye, have a great weekend, yall!! :)

I came upon this thread and was looking at the pics from the real Skywalker OG vs the one I am growing and so far I think it is the legit cut. So far its only in early mid veg but already has a very very skunky but sweet smell to it, definitely an OG hint. I am hopeful that it turns out to be and I am hoping to take cuttings of it and keep it going if it is :) check out my 4th journal to follow it.

I wanted to post a few of the photo's from my current grow which is Skywalker OG. I got it from a guy (clone) that has kept the mother for like 7 years and said he got it up in west hollywood or LA or something back in the day. He said he used to have like 30 different mothers but he narrowed it down to his top 6, this was one of them along with the blue dream I am running. He also had a original larry og cut but wouldn't release it but I was happy as heck to get the skywalker and blue dream. Anyways I am on day 49 of flowering from the flip and this definitely smells like a very very strong og and smells exactly like skywalker og I have had from grower friends of mine in norcal. The growth is very similar to other OG's I have grown as well, very very lanky, long internode spaces and pinecone shaped, very dense nugs with the sugarleafs getting very resinated on the edges. I am so excited to try this when its all done and I took 2 cuts, one will be the mother, and one will be the next one in veg. For details on the grow, check out my current journal but for now :) enjoy the photos :)

That's not Skywalker OG from LA, that's all I know.
Would you recognize the strain (its origin) from a picture of the plant just going into flower? This is mine. It was a NASC freebie and was unlabeled (damn freebies, lol), so I don’t know the breeder.

Who has grown Skywalker? What can you tell me about it?

I've grown Bubba OG and Granddaddy Purple, and I have a chance to pick up some Skywalker clones for my next grow.

Skywalker is a pure indica? What is the approximate length of the flowering cycle? Is there anything in particular that can be done to ensure the best possible Skywalker buds when they are finished?

:thanks:
Skywalker is a hybrid leaning on the indica side.

Skywalker is a not fan-leafy plant with a very open structure that lends itself well to minimal (if any) defoliation and dense buds that all get light even in the middle of a plant. Mine, whether photo or auto, have all finished around 80-90 days (auto) or about an 8-10 week flower time (photos). Primarily indica, however there are many sativa phenos out there. Depending on the breeder, the lineage of what they sell as Skywalker may differ. Check the parents and make sure it’s the cross you’re looking for. Here’s a write up from Mephisto, which is the auto version I’m growing.

MEPHISTO – SKYWALKER (SKYWALKER KUSH X TRIANGLE F3) [AUTO FEM]

REG/FEM: FEMINIZED
QUANTITY: 3 BEANS
OUT OF STOCK
THE SKYWALKER AUTO PROJECT WAS SOMETHING WHICH IN A SENSE WE STUMBLED INTO, GROWING FROM FEMINISED SEEDS, AS BREEDERS, IS A PRACTISE WE TEND TO SHY AWAY FROM, UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN PRODUCED BY US. OF COURSE, WE KNOW THEY CAN BE PRODUCED IN A DECENT, STABLE WAY, AS WE DO AND THERE CAN MOST DEFINITELY BE FIRE LURKING WITHIN. IT’S JUST WHEREVER POSSIBLE WE LIKE TO HAVE THE OPTION TO SEE THE BOYS TOO AND GET OUR TEETH STUCK INTO THE GENETICS. SO JUST PRIOR TO OUR FIRST OUTDOOR SEASON AFTER MOVING COUNTRIES, 4 YEARS AGO NOW, HAVING LITTLE TO NO STABILITY WE WERE FACED WITH A SITUATION OF NEEDING TO GO BALLS TO THE WALL AND FULLY EXPLOIT WHAT COULD POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN OUR ONLY CHANCE AT A TRUE SUMMER OUTDOOR IN A GOOD CLIMATE. I GUESS YOU COULD SAY IT WAS OUR OWN TAKE ON FREEDOM 35, (ANYONE NOT FAMILIAR WITH FREEDOM 35, OPEN ANOTHER TAB AND GOOGLE IT PLEASE.) WE RAIDED OUR EXTENSIVE SEED COLLECTION, YEARS AND YEARS IN THE MAKING, YES, WE’RE HOARDERS AND SEED ADDICTS TOO, IN WHICH, AMONGST OTHERS, WE HAD 5X 6 FEM SEED PACKS OF DNA GENETICS RESERVA PRIVADA RANGE ‘SKYWALKER KUSH’. WE ALSO STARTED IN EXCESS OF 50 OTHER STRAINS AT THAT POINT IN TIME FOR GENERAL AND OUTDOOR EVALUATION.
SKIP FORWARD PAST THE SUMMER SEASON WHICH WE SURVIVED, SOME VARITIES STOOD TALL AND STOOD THE TEST, OTHERS FELL, BUT OUT OF IT WE’D FOUND AN ABSOLUTE GEM OF A SKYWALKER KUSH MOTHER. WE HIT UPON AN INDICA DOMINANT PHENOTYPE, NOT TOO STRETCHY, RESPONDED WELL TO HIGH STRESS TRAINING, THICK STOUT BRANCHES WERE DIFFICULT TO TIE DOWN, NOT TYPICAL OF THE OTHERS WE PLAYED WITH, BUT UNTYPICAL IS WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT. SHE WAS EARLY INTO FLOWER OUTSIDE, BUSHY AS YOU LIKE, AND INSIDE ONE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY ALL-ROUND PHOTOPERIODS WE’VE GROWN. IN TOTAL WE RAN HER OUTDOORS FOR 2 SEASONS, AND SUCCESSIVELY INSIDE, DENOTED BY AN INTENSE OG AROMA, SEDATIVE, MIND-MELDING, FACE-MELTING EFFECT, GOOD YIELD FOR AN OG DERIVATIVE, HARD FLOWERS AND VERY MANAGEABLE GROWTH PATTERN FOR AN OGK, IT WAS A NO-BRAINER TO SET ABOUT MAKING AN AUTOFLOWERING VERSION. IN 2014 THE F1 CROSS WAS MADE USING POLLEN FROM OUR AUTO TRIANGLE KUSH F4. WE FELT THE LINEAGE’S INVOLVED AND SIMILARITIES THEREIN WOULD BE HIGHLY COMPLIMENTARY AND THE AIM WAS TO FURTHER INTENSIFY THE ALREADY HIGH QUALITY OF OUR TRIANGLE KUSH WITH A STRAIN WE JUST COULDN’T PUT DOWN. AND WELL WORTHY FOR THE INCEPTION OF THE MEPHISTO ARTISANAL AUTOMATICS LINE. THE SKYWALKER KUSH WAS MEMORABLE TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS WE SHARED THE FLOWERS WITH, WE STILL GET ASKED ABOUT IT NOW, FREQUENTLY. ‘….IS… IS…IS THERE ANY SKYWALKER?’ ONLY AFTER THESE FEW YEARS OF WORK CAN WE FINALLY ANSWER, YES SHE’S BACK, IN AUTO FORM.
THE SELECTIONS FOR THE F2 CROSS WERE MADE IN LATE 2014, CROPPED IN EARLY 2015, WE GREW 30 OR SO OF THE F1’S OUT INDOORS, THIS WAS NARROWED DOWN TO 9 FEMALES, FROM THESE JUST ONE WAS POLLINATED. WHEN THE ON-SET OF FLOWERING BEGINS IN THE SKYWALKER, THE LEAVES COMING OUT OF EACH BUDSET APPEAR SLIGHTLY CRINKLED TO THE EYE, ALONG WITH DISTINCTIVE AROMA, AND SEVERAL SESSIONS OF RUBBING STEMS, ONE LADY WAS SELECTED TO CARRY THE F2 SEEDS. WHEN HARVEST TIME CAME, I TOOK A SEEDED TOP COLA TO TIM, I MADE HIM CLOSE HIS EYES, NOT TOUCH, AND SLOWLY PLACED IT UNDER HIS NOSTRILS, AND SAID ‘GIVE ME ONE WORD’, HIS ANSWER: ‘SKYWALKER!’ WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. ALSO I NEGLECTED TO MENTION, THE BUBBLEHASH PROCESSED FROM OUR SKYWALKER CUT WAS ABSOLUTELY SUBLIME, AND HANDS DOWN THE OILIEST PRODUCT WE HAVE EVER RAN. SO SO MELTY. THE F2 SEEDS WERE RAN IN SPRING 2015, 70+ WERE STARTED, WHICH GAVE US 10 AUTO SKYWALKER FEMALES TO WORK WITH, TWO WERE POLLINATED, A STOCKIER HENCH COLA’D LADY, SQUAT WITH THICK INDICA/AFGHAN LEAVES, AND A MORE OPEN ELONGATED SKYWALKER, WITH SLENDER BUDS BUT OOZING RESIN AND TERPS. THIS MORE SLENDER GIRL WAS THE CANDIDATE WHO’S SEEDS WERE CHOSEN TO RUN AT F3. THE SEEDED CANDIDATES WERE FINISHED INSIDE WHILST THE REJECTS WERE PLACED IN A GREENHOUSE TO FINISH UP THE REMAINDER OF THEIR DAYS. THE F3 SEEDS WERE RAN IN AUTUMN 2015, 70+ WERE STARTED, 20 FEMALES MADE THE GRADE TO RUN TO COMPLETION, THE FINEST 3 WERE SELECTED FOR POLLINATION TO BRING THE F4 FEMINISED ARTISANAL SEEDS TO MARKET.
OUR AUTO SKYWALKER IS MID-SIZED, GOOD VIGOUR AND GROWING WITHOUT TOO MUCH FOLIAGE, BY EMPLOYING AN EASY STRATEGY OF LEAF TUCKING, YOU CAN ENCOURAGE HER TO SHOOT BRANCHES UP WITH LITTLE TO ZERO INTERFERENCE TO OVERALL GROWTH. HER OPEN STRUCTURE ALLOWS GOOD PENETRATION AND THEREFORE INCREASED YIELDS AND MINIMAL POP-CORN. INTERNODAL LENGTH IS MODERATE AND SHE’S VERY MANAGEABLE. IN THE FLOWERING STAGE SHE HAS A VERY DISTINCTIVE APPEARANCE, FINE LEAVES EMINATE FROM THE FLOWERS IN AN ALMOST SPIKEY FASHION AND HAVE A TENDENCY TO CURL UPWARDS, THE BUDS WHILST NOT OUTRIGHTLY SINGULARLY LARGE, HAVE INCREDIBLE DENSITY WHICH LATER BECOME LIKE MINI ROCKS THAT HIT YOUR TRAY AS YOU TRIM THEM. THE FLOWERS ARE VERY WHITE IN APPERANCE. THEY ARE SPREAD EVENLY AND GIVE A NICE FLOWER/PLANT SIZE RATIO. ODOUR CONTROL IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST WHILST GROWING THIS VARIETY AND IF YOU TRAVEL WITH THE FINISHED PRODUCT, A MINIMUM OF DOUBLE BAGGING IS RECOMMENDED.

HARVEST WINDOW: 65 – 70 DAYS

I thought all that was pretty cool. It’s not the most attractive plant on the vine, and not too colorful, looks mostly green and red/brown hairs at harvest, nothing special in that regard. But although this article focuses on the indica side, it doesn’t mention that at first it’s quite a sativa type effect. What they describe comes after that. For me anyway, and only based on my first one.

FWIW, there’s a little skinny and my take on the strain.
