Americans for Safe Access (ASA) is creating an educational booklet featuring
individuals whose lives have been affected by the federal and states war on
medical marijuana.

We are looking for stories of patient abuse by the government and
discrimination, to show policy and opinion makers that policy reform is
compelling and matter of urgency. In essence, we want to produce a
"Shattered Lives" focussed on the medical marijuana issue. I will be helping
them compile and write up the stories and get photos.

We are looking for some cases that illustrate the following:

1) Patients who are in prison in California and other states, denied a fair
trial or defense

2) Patients who have died due to lack of access

3) Patients who have suffered ill health due to an arrest

4) Patients who are not in jail but have lost jobs, livelihoods, property,
their homes, custody, money, etc. due to an arrest

5) Patients who have been discriminated against in the work place due to use
or failed drug test, or suffered other discrimination (like loss of
benefits, removal from a liver transplant list, loss of housing, custody
battles, etc.)

6) Patients, including Sister Somayah, who are continually being harassed,
despite their right to use it

7) Patients who have fought for their property to be returned

8) Stories of patients who need to go to "the streets" to get their medicine

9) Court cases where patients won due to public support or a sympathetic
judge or jury

10) Patients who have fled to other countries and are now refugees

We would greatly appreciate it if you could help us locate these patients or
give us referrals as soon as possible. We are on a deadline and have only a
few weeks to produce this.

PLEASE FORWARD TO ANYONE OR ANY EMAIL LIST YOU THINK WOULD BE HELPFUL WITH
THIS PROJECT.

Please email me with any referrals and contact information. Thanks for your
help with this. Together, we can make a difference!
